Very nice. I wonder what distinguishes a 'gentleman's yacht' from other yachts. Also, is there a 'cad's yacht'?
@TheTenderGarage3 жыл бұрын
ooh, good question! I think the curved canoe stern would be one way to mark out a gentleman's yacht, you can't imagine a string of ungentlemanly inflatables attached to a curved canoe stern in the way you see them tied to the beach club style transom on many contemporary yachts. What do you think? As for a cad's yacht, hmm, maybe a fast Mediterranean day boat? ;)
@mattrobson36033 жыл бұрын
@@TheTenderGarage Inflatables? Attached to my canoe stern? I nearly dropped my monocle into my highball glass at the notion, sir! While the canoe stern is elegant, I think it kinda loses a lot of versatility with not being able to deploy that large space at water level. I don't know what a cad's yacht would be. I guess fast, maybe something flashily painted and named the Poontang Express or something.

Yacht is lovely, but the video is too quick and jumpy, there is lots we missed in this video, where are the tenders stored? Is the master on deck? Cost? Range? Staff quarters and the ship's mess? I could have watched a video 10 times longer on this boat.
@TheTenderGarage3 жыл бұрын
thanks Marc, good feedback. When we posted this there was very little information available on the yacht. I'll look to do an update video later this year once we know more. In the meantime, I've added a bit more to the description above :)
@maxnex76763 жыл бұрын
It looks like the tenders are stored below the aft deck, if you look carefully at the video the aft deck opens in two, if this is the case a fantastic way to free up deck space and also keep the lines clean and elegant.

Nice Yacht, but would have been to better end the vid - instead of going "quietly into the night", if it suddenly was shown occupied and busy with people - you know, the actual sailors and the guests, etc. Who wants to be alone on such a boat, especially after a year of COVID and quarantines, and yet the video shows spaces that are a bit too empty and lonesome... I know it is a trope, just wished if the trope was not so duly followed. Lastly, if I am not mistaken, this is meant to be (a token) explorer, so, I suppose the lower deck is shown a bit too empty? Otherwise, a classy yacht indeed!
@TheTenderGarage3 жыл бұрын
thanks for the feedback yory :)
@brettlehman11143 жыл бұрын
I don't think you pay this kind of money for a "token" explorer, whether they use it that way is up to owners but I am sure this is plenty capable. As far as seeing persons on the boat, I could care less, when I see a nice car or yacht that's not what I came for. I was in dreamland thinking how this elegant palace on the ocean was taking me almost anywhere in the world.
@TheTenderGarage3 жыл бұрын
@@brettlehman1114 Thanks Brett, we're very interested to get feedback on the content of these videos, we felt that our audience probably doesn't want to see the actors as much as they want to see the yacht, so we're intentionally minimising how much we see the actors having dinner / cocktails etc. If it's the crew going about their work then that's different, we think the audience would want to see that.
@yoryteperman4293 жыл бұрын
@@brettlehman1114 Well, there are people who cross Atlantic on a kayak, so, even a kayak can take you places. My comment referred to the fact that it LOOKS like a classic superyacht, without any visible attributes that would mark it as an expedition vessel - i.e. a proper crane to lower and lift a proper landing tender equipped with land transportation (buggies, bikes, etc) - those tenders tend to be much larger than a simple motorboat used to disembark in a port, - especially since this yacht does not seem to have a helicopter landing pad... With proper explorers, "getting there" is half the journey, as what is the point of getting to Patagonia and not being able to disembark?? This vessel could probably be taken around the world, just a matter of properly equipping it, yet this ability in itself does not make it into an 'explorer' yacht. I do not need to mention that no diving facilities are visible either. As for the "people" comment - that was a "technical" suggestion about animation and was not meant for "consumers" of this video like yourself... But since you pointed it out - Yachts in my mind are like women - there are women that look beautiful when they are on the move - those make good actresses as they are fascinating to watch and you do not tire watching them. Then, there are "models" with "static" beauty - best admired when standing still and apart, but once they start smiling or moving, the magic is broken and they become somewhat vulgar. Same here - if the yacht looks great without people but does not work with people on-board occupying the space, well, it is a crap yacht in my books - no matter how refined and elegant it looks when empty. Then, there are yachts that complement habitation, look better when lived-in with people on board - those are the kind of yachts I like the most, I guess because generally I care for people more than yachts... Cheers!
