Any video of power tests? Or any videos showing the two diodes? I'm curious how you fit two diodes in that host along with the optics| to combine the beams, and still have enough heat dissipation to run it for more than a few seconds. Especially with the smaller dual diode in your other video.

Verry cool! You should really be ALOTmore careful if you Are going to shine it in the sky, listen and look to see if there are any aircraft around, if there isnt any then its fairly safe to do it. Althogh waving it around like that near other pioples houses and could hit moving cars too :-z Its juat If your sensible with it, you wont get in trouble. I wouldnt want that for you I cant believe how packed you got that desighn thogh! 5x 2w diodes?

I love how in other countries not usa people can shine lasers in the sky willy nilly, my astronomy club got police called from local airport when a passing plane saw a relatively weak green laser pointer bring pointed up. We use it pointing out stars. High powered lasers must be used with discretion.

This is two 5 Watt lasers with converging beams. While the overall output is 10 Watts, it still only has the strength of a 5 watt laser.

You said it your self the overall added up output is 10 watts. That is the strength lol. Not 5 watts. 5+5=10. If I hold a 5 watt laser on a lpm and it measures 5 watts by your logic if I took another 5 watt laser and held it on the meter as well the output wouldn't change. WRONG Obviously it would you just added 5w. The watts is a measure of the lasers strength.

What 2 diodes? NDB7A75 x 2 ?Did you also use cylindrical correction?How do you have such low divergence?Are they 2 x NDB7875 diodes?What method did you use to combine that also lowered divergence?A prism pair and a cube?I think maybe you are closer to 6 watts.

Not expensive actually, you need a diode (I recommend the NUBM44 blue 450nm laser diode) and you will need a buck driver, not easy to find then you will need a heat sink because the diode will overheat otherwise and a MOSFET for the switch because an ordinary switch would explode with that amount of power. This whole project costs about $250 minimum.
