This doesn't just look like a 80 year old coaster. It looks like a 80 year old coaster with a pack a day smoking habit. Props to the maintenance people that keep it working and safe.

I was ride operator back in the 70's and I cannot believe they still have this coaster. I operated every ride in this park though some may not still be there. I was watching as the coaster came in and noticed the Hell Hole was not there anymore which was across from the Blue Streak.

Back in the summer of 1966 my sister at the age of 2 rode it as her very first coaster. Ah, those were the good old days of ride-at-your-own-risk before lawsuits and insurance.

@@billkeithchannel These days if you let a twp year old ride a coaster CPS would be waiting at the bottom. And in this regard they may not be totally wrong hehe..... Ahh the good ol days. I remember back in the 1990s eating a fried chicken patty sandwich on a sketchy old wooden coaster. Not recommended.

The sign above the tunnel used to be a drawing of the coaster track with lights on it that would light up as the train got to those certain points on the track. The tradition in the 70's was to shout "Watch out for snakes!!!!" as the train started to move in to the tunnel.

awesome since 1938 this is the very first coaster i ever rode and what started the addiction! glad it's running again! does anybody else here remember the mouse or the indoor scrambler they had? one other thing i think it's pretty cool is that parts of the raging wolf bobs from geauga lake were used to make many repairs to the ride rather then ending up in a landfill or scrap yard

One of my favorite childhood memories is going to this park with my dad when I was 10 or 11. It was the first summer that I could juuuuuust pass for 48 inches if I wore the right hat and several pairs of socks. This was my first roller coaster. I spent all day riding it again and again and again. It's sad that the park has had serious financial troubles because this classic deserves some love.

Back in 1993 I lost my glasses on that left turn after the far end turn around. I drove back down there the next day and they found the frames but no glass in them.
@CoasterMan13Official3 жыл бұрын
Did you get them fixed?
@billkeithchannel3 жыл бұрын
@@CoasterMan13Official I switched to contact lenses. But back then disposables were just being developed and were not available for astigmatism. So my prescription had to be cleaned daily to last 6 months. $140 a pair. In 2000 I went back to glasses. Then about 2007 cheap disposables were available for astigmatism (Oasis) and I never went back to glasses.

We rode this coaster 35 times in a row in early June 1977. It was our high school "class day", and very few people were in the park on a weekday. The operator saw no one in line when we got back, and hit the switch to let us ride over and over again!

I am 81 years old, and my first time on the Blue Streak was about 1954 when I was 12, and I have ridden it hundreds of times. My last ride was a few years ago at age 75, when my frame was a bit too tender, and I had to give it up. We rode the ravine Flyer at Waldameer the same afternoon. I grew up about 15 miles away and spent most of my teenage summer days and nites at Conneaut Lake Park.

Its old, rickety, and you can hear and feel how old it is during the ride. But the best is the seats....no restrictions...you can slide around into your partner, and most important, come out of your seat on the initial downturns!! Great Ride, highly recommend it.

Yes, I am recalling my 80's history of the era and remember the exodus due to the closure of the many steel mills in the area. This has caused a number of parks to close across the west side of PA and much of Ohio. It is heartbreaking to see places like this deline and then disappear forever and I have seen my fair share already. I am hoping the coaster could be moved as it really looks a nice classic woodie. I wish it could be moved here to Long Island as we NEED a good woodie out here.
