What a great couple! Two of the most charismatic actors of my lifetime, and they seem like such kind, decent people, too :-) I only just discovered Phoebe is part Chinese, which must have influenced her exotic good looks. I've actually lived 3 blocks away from Phoebe's friend Jennifer Jason Leigh in West Hollywood for years -- she lives right by the park I take my dog to just about every day with my dog -- but I've never once seen Jennifer at the park! Kind of a pity, I would have liked to have said hi and told her how much I enjoyed seeing them in "The Anniversary Party", though I did bump into Alan Cumming at a screening for "The Mask 2" and got to tell him, at least...

I thought you were criminally underrated as a comic actor, and would have loved to see you in more screwball stuff like Gremlins. Anyway, I couldn't forgive you... until I got into Frankie Cosmos/Greta Kline. She's so enormously talented. Her music is so beautiful, sensitive, intimate. As a man who feels like he needs to be invulnerable, she allows me to feel vulnerable sometimes. You did the right thing. Well done.

I had no idea that Phobe Cates and Kevin Kline did this for her store. Since it opened in 2005 this was done literally 9 years after it opened in 2014. Must have been the last time she acted in anything since I thought she retired when she opened her store - this must have been for fun and advertising, right? Edit: Just learned although she retired to raise their children, she actually did two more acting jobs before this final short. After retiring in 1994, Cates has appeared in a movie (as a favor) and lent her voice in a video game. The film “The Anniversary Party” was a production of her good friend Jennifer Jason Leigh, with whom she starred in “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”. She lent her voice to play her role as Kate Beringer in the video game Lego Dimensions 2015.
