I have been using the Samson Mics, all of them for years, now the G Track Pro. I am trying out the Blue Yeti today for the first time. It is a good mic, but I just feel the Samson is better. I played two recordings for my son today, I narrated this morning with the Samson, and we compared it with the Blue Yeti. It was judged by us, the better mic. I am not a professional mic reviewer but have narrated audiobooks for 35 years. I will keep the Blue Yeti because I need a smaller footprint with my notebook, but will also continually use the Samson. Thanks for this review.

Thanks for sharing this! An important note to those looking for a microphone is that these microphones pick up a lot of background noises if the room you're working isn't treated. I bought a dynamic microphone as opposed to a condenser microphone because the environment I am in is quite loud.

hi, have you found a solution yet? make sure it is plugged to the microphone port and in your sound settings, the microphone must be selected as the default. I would suggest getting something like the Blue Yeti Nano which is a smaller version of the Blue Yeti and is pretty much plug-and-play which means it works out of the box without much configuration.

It's only distracting if there's a delay (which happens when you're monitoring from most editing programs like FCPX) But directly from the mic, it should be nearly instantaneous. Like recording without headphones and hearing your own voice in the air. I don't have a Samson so I can't confirm, but I have worked with analog monitoring setups in the past.
