I always tried to keep my art somewhat more on the realistic side, trying to make my anatomy as proportional as possible. But the is when I lost my style, so I played around with the proportions and just stuck to how I liked it and art just got easier and much more fun. Don't constrict yourself by thinking too much how people will see your art. It's yours after all

I am trying to learn Shignori Soejimas art style (He’s the Persona 5 guy) and his art is INSANE. I am lucky that there are really old videos of just him drawing and painting. It is interesting to study other artists and how they draw! The only thing I’m struggling with is how the hell do they do lighting? It’s so strange. He likes to use black. A. Lot. Which is interesting. The games are in that black and red. Or black and yellow etc. I am thankful for your videos I always look forward to them!

he likes to implement comic/manga techniques to his rendering. If you are struggling with lighting then you need to paint more basic shapes alot in different angle of lights. Most important thing is that he put in a lot of hours to get to his level. A lot of hours. Like alot. In other words get your fundamentals right.

Yeah it's ok to learn to copy as well to build a foundation. You just keep building off things until you make it your own style. In another concept I know a husband and wife who made their own style and created a comic together. You could tell the wife learned from the husband as you watched their accounts. Thanks for another lesson teacher. 😊❤

Idk why I'm saying this here but here's something happened in my art journey... I quit my college to pursue art as career, because I found myself improving and getting better day by day but when I dropped out and spent money for it (bough a iPad) and started drawing staying back home what happened was I started doing shitty works literally they all sucked. (?) I forgot how even to draw eye that I was kinda obsessed with from my beginning days.. Then I waited for a whole year and a half but nothing better was happening. And then because of force from my family and relatives I went back to college and it's been a year... You know what.. now I draw the bestest works.. 🙂 but i ain't have time. Now I kinda get what happened... My mind or my confidence or my concept about art all was messed up when I was staying in my room alone. And I was scared and panicked all day long, I wanted a quick all together improvement and make money... When I went back to college(I'm a commerce major) i meet people I'm not seeing art as a burden or that I feel I want to force myself to improve.. I'm cool my mind is calm and I can feel a lot of things and it even changed how my art looks too... If someone read this, please don't force yourself too much, don't always think art as something to make just money (maybe it will be a positive factor for someone) and keep yourself open to all and everything.. they really makes your art good.

I'm an engineer and started drawing just a few years ago during my studies. I loved it as it offered me a gateway to get out of all the down-to-earth topics you can get in engineering. I immediately told myself I wouldn't want to make it my work because of that. It will remain a hobby and it's fine this way. Though I wish I would have the courage to share what I do online, but that's another topic lol
