This reminds me how I pick my battles carefully. Usually I prefer the passengers stay inside the vehicle on basic traffic violations. If I ask anyone out of the vehicle. I have a reason.

100%. Unless I have RS of some crime by the passenger they stay in...heck I dont even like to take out drivers most of the time...

What if they are sick

Cop in most cases will play doctor and deny they are sick and make them get out. Not sure if this was from a traffic stop but saw actually a horrifying interaction with a teenager. Cop demanded to know what was hanging off side of kid. Kid said it was for his diabetes. Cop said immediately no it was not, and looked like he was going to rip off kid's side. Given the age of kid it was an insulin pump for a type 1 diabetic. Hate to think what would have happened to teenage kid if the cop's superman ego ripped the pump off the kid.

Both are wrongly decided. The government employee should not be allowed to order anyone out of a vehicle unless they are being arrested.

Here it would be obstruction of a governmental operation. You have given them a lawful order and they refuse to obey that order. Personally, if i need them to exit then it's more than just "i can do it and trying to be an ass." Unless there is a reason then i would rather them stay in the vehicle.

Sure that's what you say publicly. Yet video after video of police pulling people from cars for zero reasons other than being butt hurt.

In Texas, these actions would meet the requirements in the statute for criminal trespass.. Without a warrant or exigent circumstances

If the cop watch videos are any explanation, the preponderance of stops where people are ordered to out of a car are a result of passengers refusing to provide ID. Here is 100% the typical scenario: Cop to passenger: give me your ID. Passenger: No I did nothing wrong. (or what is your RAS for my ID) Cop: get out of the car. Passenger. No. Cop: get out or I will arrest you for not providing ID. Or I gave you a lawful order and I will not beat your arse for refusing to ID. This is a good channel but does not understand what started the order to get out the car in the majority of cases.

This is why Qualified Immunity must B eliminated across the board! As long as anyone has QI, those people will always B above the law!

What about, is escalating this into something I will need to possibly arrest and charge this innocent individual, because I feel he isn't giving me the proper respect I feel I deserve, and I can so I will? Isn't this something that should be taught at the academy and have refresher courses throughout their careers? In this day and age..lol...shouldn't DE- ESCALATION be at the forefront of contact between cops and civilians?

Related. I’m 72 and on oxygen (not needed when I’m seated). Officer tells me to get out of the car. I inform the Officer that I’m happy to do so; however, I’m on oxygen and must be allowed to retrieve it out of the back seat. (Without the oxygen I could die.)

What I never hear from your channel is 1) is this the view of our police force I want to show to the people, 2) do I really want to possibly kill someone for if it goes wrong if it goes south, and 3) is it really the right thing to do
