Thank you for this! I have been running the ac180 in my work/construction trailer for the past 6months. I just got the ac200L to replace it and run more solar. There’s no other information on the internet quite as useful as your videos when it comes to this stuff! Greatly appreciated!

Thank you Jeff! I am very fascinated by the ac70, but not sure if it may have caught your attention, it would be a treat to watch such an in-depth video on it but that is 100 percent me being selfish, thanks again for sharing your knowledge!

You have the patience of a Saint! The UPS mode is not well explained in the user manuals, so I have found your explanations very useful. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for the detailed look at these UPS modes. No one else has shown these to any real degree. I’ve been waiting for a unit of this size to use for emergency backup, but also justify having it by taking my office semi-permanently off grid with a small ground mounted solar array. The PV Priority mode sounds perfect for this use and coupled with the fact that this runs so quietly I think it may be the one I’ll end up getting.

I recently purchased a AC200L (primeday deal) and noticed a difference between it and what's shown here. This is for PV priority mode, the only mode I've tested so far. Instead of +10%, mine is +5%. I'm guessing this is at least partially due to you using a early model. My versions are IOT v9041.06, ARM v2134.05, DSP v2098.15, BMS v1043.11. Also had connected a B230 with BMS v1018.02. There might be other differences, but this is all I've noticed so far. Thank you for making these videos, they are very helpfull. I appreciate the time you put into them.

This has been so useful. Particularly as I do not own one of these machines, (yet), so cannot test. But the information you have provided, will help in making the right choice. I have been trying to think of ways to do many of the things that, I now find are already within the machines capabilities. Thank you for your effort.

I enjoyed the video it was very informative. I have an AC180 and I before I bought it I looked everywhere to see if I could change the amp input or the watt input as to not overload my grid and all I could find was turn it to silent mode. Well that didn’t work cause the moment I plugged it in to AC it started working as a UPS and silent mode only worked when nothing was being drawn from the unit. I’m in contact with Bluetti to see if they can update their firmware or their app to include the feature the AC200L has with regard to lowering the amp input. The only solution I have is to get one of the AC adapters Bluetti sells like the T200S, T400, or the T500 yet it’ll always run on battery to my understanding and not in UPS but until I can test it I won’t know for sure. I still have time to return the AC180 and acquire a AC200L yet the price difference is kinda huge. I got the AC180 on prime day for $499 and the AC200L is $1399 as of late August 2024. AC adapter cost about $129 for the T200S and $149 for the T500. The T400 is no where to be found in the U.S. I do like that the AC200L is roughly about the same footprint as the AC180 yet almost twice the batter capacity.

Nice work! My fave tidbit of knowledge is that the inverter only uses the battery (for UPS purposes), explaining the fan spooling up and weird spikes on my energy monitor. My 200L is silent no matter what I do to it, but my 180 loses it's mind for a few seconds. I put the thing on silent mode, hoping the fan doesn't do that any more. Given the batt is @ 99% it should never reach charge rates that require a sudden ramp of the fan.

Most Bluetti have 20 ms delay, which might not be enough for sensitive equipment. A usual PC UPS has around 2-4 ms

Thanks so much for the info. I wish the AC70 had the UPS modes available to it. I want to get a unit for camping, but also want to be able to get value from it when not camping, by having it offset some of my home power use to my solar power. (By giving the unit a AC charging window during the day when my large home solar system makes excess power, and then have the bluetti discharge in ups mode power my computer at night) The AC70's price point is great, but does not seem like I will be able to do this with it. Would need the AC200L I guess, but that is a lot more expensive, and not really in my budget for a camping device. Thanks again

Great Video. I'm looking seriously looking at Bluetti trying to find out the information I'm after is very difficult. Where did you find out the max charging current? My circumstances are totally different. I'm looking at the AC300. Reading the manual is confusing. It talks about 3000W max AC in, it refers to a 15A (3600W) cable then says it comes with a 10A cable (2400W) I calculate the current to be 12.5A for 3000W Assuming unity power factor I think 0.9pf and most probably leading as I assume it has a switch mode power supply and they are normally capacitive. Before everyone jumps up and down I live in Australia technically the voltage is 230V in reality it's 240V. The math doesn't add up to their claims. Either the user manual I'm looking at is wrong and they used the US manual and haven't corrected everything or the 3,000W AC in can never be achieved. That is excluding the 2400W DC.

I’m missing one thing in the video. I have standard voltage 220V, but in blackouts after electricity in network turned on it’s 185-195V and my AC200PL turned on pass through, but fridge cannot start. Is there any option to setup minimum voltage from network at minimum 200v to supply to activate pass through?

Thank you for the detailed information! I should point out that I'm currently running my AC200L on PV Priority with SoC set to 85%. BMS version is 1043.11. As expected, when I connect to solar at 85% it begins charging the battery and Grid Passthrough remains on. However, I see that at 90% the AC200L turns off Grid Passthrough rather than SoC+10. So it appears that maybe Grid Passthrough set to kick off at 90% regardless of the SoC setting?

I have a Bluetti EB70s unit and was wondering if I can use it as a “UPS” as well? I have it mainly for charging drone batteries in the field (fire department training and traveling). I plan replacing with the new DJI Power Station 1000 (promo deal is 40% off) but it’s their first entry into this space, but they do have great batteries imho. I’ve owned 8 drones (w/6-8 batteries each) over the years and only a 2 failures - an FPV drone battery amd a Mavic-3 battery. And would love to repurpose the Bluetti EB70s and use as a UPS for my TV. Thanks!

Wow, your video is amazing and so informative, helping clear the confusion with the bluetti modes! I haev a question regarding Time of Use in customised mode using a schedule. When I have AC passthrough working (off peak, battery at less than SOC high but above SOC low, Charge from Grid is on, nothing connected to DC input), the AC200L seems to click and stop AC passthrough for 1 second, every 30 seconds. It is enough to trigger my UPS to switch over to protect my devices. When I turn off Time of Use, this behaviour stops. Have you observed this in your testing? Edit: The same issue happens if I am below SOC low, but it is Peak time and hence not meant to charge. So it seems that I am having an issue when the AC200L is trying to do full AC passthrough but not when it is charging the battery and supplying AC at the same time.

Please check you are running the latest firmware. That sounds like an issue I ran into prerelease that was fixed by a BMS update.

Can you please help me? I have an AC200l. I am trying to charge with a 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter. The inverter is hooked to 4 12 volt interstate batteries with a 160 amp alternator. I am trying to charge up running down the road in a semi truck. It keeps tripping the test/reset button on inverter. AC200l is on silent mode. I tried setting the ac down to 4amp rather than 12amp still no luck.

I’m trying to use solar during the day and then use grid to keep battery at 100% at night (to run my server rack). How can I schedule PV priority mode during the day and then standard UPS at night?
