About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in (1997) and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

0:30 head banging mode switched on! This unusual song is filled with loud, raw guitars which makes it such a good time. The distortion in this gives Bugman an unforgettable vibe which results to a more punk-like genre. This song doesn't appeal to everybody but is a proper jam. The song is overall unpredictable with the unusual space Is the place which sounds like a 5 year old messing around with GarageBand. Love it, 10/10.

Is it a bit odd for me to say that I really enjoyed Leisure? I'd have to say that my favorite Blur album might actually be Modern Life Is Rubbish. But it's very interesting to me that every Blur fan has their own tastes within Blur's own music, which is great. EDIT as of 3/29/17: My taste has sorta shifted when it comes to Blur's album's; I now find Parklife and 13 as my favorite Blur albums. The rest are great in their own right though, so all come in a tie in second/third.

Personally, I think the Bugman is such a better album opener than Tender. Don't get me wrong though, Tender is a perfectly fine song, nothing wrong with it; but I prefer Bugman's, "ear-rapey" riffs and raw sound rather than Tender's soft guitar. I think that Bugman is a better representation of what Blur were thinking at that time.

Is this the first recorded instance of the term "Bugman" being used together with a description of behavior associated with atomized, spiritually and intellectually neutered postmodern life? It's a recurring theme in Blur's music, so I doubt this this song is some intentional way-ahead-of-its-time coining of the term, but it seems like they could have coined it accidentally here, decades before anyone else did.
@giuloa

I think it's about drugs, mate. Could be about this "new" usage of the term, but I'm not sure if they already knew it's meaning before it got popular. Besides this album is the most personal one, so I guess it's about them in a way; ironically, accidentally or on purpose...ha now it's even more difficult to know.

@@B.L.U.R.E.M.I "Reves / Yo Soy" actually blew my mind, damn, there's so many diverse stuff there. There are a few standouts in my memory at the moment; "3", "(Guerra)", and the masterpiece closer, "Lento". I'll probably dissect this album some more before moving on to your next suggestion. Great stuff! Never would have guessed experimental latino rock would end up being my second favorite 90' genre, haha.

For that years, Damon had a particular music taste. I hear this song and sound familiar to Gorillaz.

This song is freaking amazing! Phenomenal guitars as always.. Just one question: who the hell is singing here? This can't be Damon, that's a different voice altogether.. Although I'm aware that Damon does the vocals during live performances, and in the record, you can clearly hear him singing backup. I'm thinking it could be Dave doing lead vocals on the studio recording?
