Hello Brian, I just wanted to say thanks for posting this video of the process you went through. You've got quite the spread of tools to help and ultimately you showed that CR-V who the boss is. I got a degree about 20 years ago, worked in the field a little while, and ultimately made a career change. I still like to tinker and fix things, and I'm currently fighting my wife's 2010 CR-V. I will say, that wrapped wire that was dangling is also present on our CR-V, but ONLY because we had an aftermarket remote start system installed. Elsewise, it wouldn't be there. I ended up replacing the MICU (Multiplex Interface Control Unit, I think.) and currently have the same lovely light letting me know the car doesn't want to be stolen. My local Honda Stealership insisted that replacing the MICU would not require any reprogramming. I believed it would, and my factory service manuals stated they would. Needless to say, I'm not dying to give them my business at this point. My $1100 scanner won't talk to the MICU's immobilizer functions, which is quite annoying, but I can do a bunch of unhelpful functions that my $300 reader can do (lights, horn, wipers, oh joy). The world has gotten much more computer oriented, and unfortunately it's not something I've stayed current with. Anyway, thank you for the detailed, informative troubleshooting video you posted.

I’ve had that before. The guy changed 3 immobilizer units and different keys and i couldn’t program it. Finally i told him to get a factory key which costed him 70$ and i programmed it and it fixed it right away. Like u said i hate factory junk which makes me think i’m doing something wrong. Good job Brian!i’ve seen straggle on key programming with those/have aftermarket remote starter.coz the way they wired to data line and some of the wire are relayed to imo ignition wire..by the way im remote starter installer too and starting to do flashing/programming job.im learning a lot from your channel.thanks

So Brian was the fix cutting a new key? I know we discussed it last night but I did miss the beginning of the class. I had that connection problem with the group. Thanks for sharing 😊

Yes , The newly cut key would not program for some reason. I checked the Chip ID and it was the same as the one that I had cut and programmed.

Hey Brian, do you read these messages still? I'm having this exact problem on my same generation CR-V. I too have a remote start that has the same exact key fob you show in The video...What is the actual fix for this? Is that Autel scan tool necessary? Thanks in advance.

If you bump the sample rate up to maximum and put the pico on a long time base are the captures decent? I want the 2205a but still looking at other options. Heard micsig makes a good scope. But I do use the uscope a lot
