Definitely. There's no way to reach your end game against jade druid because they basically have an infinite number of jade golems at their disposal. The only reliable answer to Jade decks are Pirates, which is basically AIDS vs Cancer.
@MrMockRock

Disagree. My Reno Dragon Priest demolishes the majority of Jade Druid decks I play. You don't need to go all-out aggro, you just need to continuously pump out pressure while having a few answers to large threats.
@HaveFunLosingBro
@HaveFunLosingBro 8 жыл бұрын
yeah but how often will that brann combo work and what do you do against aggro? With this deck you're highly unfavored vs aggro.

My(non-reno) dragon priest does well against jade druid, it wins most the times but if I get a bad start and they get auctioneer out its GG for me. I tweaked it abit because it was getting demolished by pirate warrior and that made the match up against druid much weaker.
@MrMockRock
@MrMockRock 8 жыл бұрын
Michael Izquierdo I think a more aggressive, less greedy version of Dragon Reno Priest might be the best of both worlds. It can push out enough pressure to kill Jade Druid and Kazakus' mass Polymorph has clutched out MANY games for me. And you also have access to Reno and Raza for Pirates.

Well, no, but it _did_ kill control that can't kill with burst. The old days of "kill all your shit, then summon big dudes" are gone unless those big dudes are Golems.

What control deck has no burst? Maybe priest? Mage will just burn you, same as shaman. Warrior will either grom you or C´thun you, Warlock will Leeroy, rougue, durid and hunter don´t have a control archetype so it only priest and pally who doesn´t have bust (and pally can anyfin you for what matters)

I think the answer is somewhat? Reno Mage just gets utterly shit on by Jade Druid, but Renolock does have a chance. You basically only win with Reno Mage if you like in the video, get lucky with some late game freeze effects and just hit face.

i all ways saw it like this... aggro>control control >mid/tempo mid/tempo>aggro well its not all ways true, but in my opinion most of the time. aggro kills control before he can use his late game cards, tempo have the board clear and the early game to deal with aggro and tempo cant kill control fast enough before he use his big guns.
@zilfran1
@zilfran1 8 жыл бұрын
If I'm understanding your post right, I think you have it backwards. Historically, aggro decks oppress midrange because they are too fast for midrange's durdly bigger guy plan. Meanwhile, midrange beats up on control because they have an endless stream of big threats that control can't possibly deal with forever. And control keeps aggro in check by removing everything aggro has to offer until aggro runs out of cards and then they just win easily with inevitability.While, of course, this doesn't hold 100% true, this is the classic definition of rock paper scissors within card games.

Jade Idol is indeed OP, but your comparison does not work. Jade Idol does not limit desing space, where as Bladeflurry (or Warsong commander while we are at it) does. It does not mean it's OP, it means that they simply can't print certain cards.

Reno Mage is not all that bad against Jade Druid. Jade Druid is actually exceptionally slow and minion dependent. What Reno decks should worry about is Jade Rogue and Shaman. They tend to be faster, and have plenty of burn to finish the game off instead of just relying on giant jades.

@Coldmaj
@Coldmaj 8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, like starting out with a reactive hand which leads to tempo Reno, losing a 50/50 against Rag, top-deck swipe kills the 8/8 without taking face damage (his other cards were Living Roots, Feral Rage and Brann),not drawing Medivh until it's late, getting shitty Aestish summons when it counts, getting sub-par portals and getting a pretty bad Kabal Courier. The only real good RNG he got was Cone of Cold out of Tome, but it didn't actually matter since ice-block was up and if the opponent chose to trade instead of going face, Kibler still had lethal with attack, attack into Polymorph Boar. a lot of RNG indeed.

I used to really enjoy the old removal control warrior which is now unplayable thanks to jade idol. I tried a list that runs Grom, Alex and Gorehowl for burst which has given me a bit of success against druid, but the match up is still almost impossible. Some players complain about how boring and frustrating it is to play against a removal control deck but i would argue it's far more frustrating to die on turn 5 consistently every second game.

In Standard maybe, but there's a lot more diversity in Wild with control. That being said, Jade Druid will most often win even without any Wild cards vs control, simply because Jade Idol smashes that strategy. That strategy is pretty much the only reason I play hearthstone so unless Blizzard nerfs this I'm out.

I find it REALLY hard with Reno decks usually. I think each of them has their own upsides. I prefer Reno Dragon Priest the most and your chance to win is usually solely based around tempo-ing them out of the game. I have a Ragnaros in the deck for this sort of situation. Getting a Rag drop on turn 8 after you've kept their board mostly clean with minion combat you can usually win. Especially so if you've saved your Death and Entomb for problematic cards.

EzioAuditore1500 You mean ping? It's to prevent that 'just in case' scenario where the opponent has mulch or naturalize, however unlikely it may be. It's only 1 dmg. Same logic as summoning a half decent minion with a doomsayer. If the opponent kills doomsayer, the other minion lives. If not, still ok as you cleared the board.

Absolutely. Jade as a concept killed TRADITIONAL control. Go ahead and try N'zoth warrior right now and see how that goes for you. Reno decks can sometimes handle Jade just because they tend to either have competitive burst potential or board control but you're fucked if you're using a traditional control deck. I'd say 100% that traditional control is dead unless classes like warrior and priest get some tools that persuade them to not play faster decks and that counters the slew of bullshit druid and shaman is playing right now. I think my biggest gripe with this xpac is just that everything is too fast and the decks that normally punish aggression get molested by "midrange" decks that draw their deck in 7 turns, can't be fatigued out, and play threat after threat that requires hard removal.

Pretty one off example in my opinion. The other player shuffled jades into the deck the first time when he should have just put pressure on the board. Brian also got lucky he had no other follow up or jade when fandral hit. Another turn later Brian is surprised the other player didnt have more jade pressure and has to just float the mana. On top of all those misplays or bad luck for the other player its still required Brian draw a freeze effect late game to clutch it out. Personally I won a few control matches against players who didnt know how to pilot the jade deck. But 9/10 times I have no shot against one. If they remotely draw into a few jade things early its just over. I also think there a big difference when it comes to control mage (burst from hand, freeze effects) than control warrior or Priest that has to win with minions after they deal with the other threats.

Jade Druid won't be around much longer, it gets countered by EVERYTHING else but control decks. Miracle rogue is most popular at legend ranks right now which destroys it along with aggro shaman. This should open up the way for control decks to come back. Overhyped and not a very strong deck, just LOOKS insane in the matchups it is good against

As a Jade Druid player, I believe Control hath not been slain. XD At the very least, I don't have nor go out of my way to craft the Class Packs' Gadgetzan Auctioneer... and I took out Wild Growth because that plus Jade Blossom lead to so much mana plus empty hand with nothing to do with it. Stay strong. Jade has not broken this meta, regardless of words I see, nor has Jade Idol. It's a momentum thing, and if one shuts down that momentum (Secret Mage and C'Thun Mage can do that easily, in my experience as a Jade Druid player), then we Jade Druids have nothing. But no, as far as so many I've read are concerned, it's Jade Idol that's the problem... a card that by itself can do very little. Oh, I'm going to fill my deck full of Jade Idols... and then I keep drawing them when I need something else out of my deck. Control is not dead, I believe. Nor are the Goons worthless in this game as I've seen some say. Hello, buffed Doppleganster, summoning three minions at once. How are you with your-OMIGOSH ITS A 10/10 x3!! D: Lol. Basically, I don't think cards in MY deck need to be nerfed. But that's my admitted bias. So if I wasted time and you read comments, I apologize.

Its not that hard to beat Jade decks, you just need to be smart when playing removal and board clears when playing a control deck push for all the damage when the line is clear. Even Kibler's choice to not save the value of that Kazakus spell is a big mistake for what I observed.

Reno Lock isn't a traditional control deck though. It has heaps of hard removal, a 20 damage burst combo and plenty of dangerous on-board threats. It is a control deck but it has sort of moved into the realm of a hybrid deck. If you try to play control warrior or control priest right now, you'll quickly gather that control is weak. The best match-ups for control are barely over 50/50.
@mac102938
@mac102938 8 жыл бұрын
Strongside But thats just it. "Traditional control" isnt even the oldest form of control. Control warrior used to run alex + grom for burst and had ysera and the likes for alternate win cons. Handlock used to lock down the board with giants that were taunted up and try to win from there, heck even old school control priest ran ysera and light of the naaru as potential win cons and it was considered the most passive control deck by a mile. The fatigue style control of recent years were a product of the over printing of removal tools that allowed control decks to simply sit and wait out other decks. This however is not the only form of traditional control.
@strongside4565
@strongside4565 8 жыл бұрын
mac102938 Yeah but the old, old control decks were well before aggressive decks could rush you down in 5 turns. It isn't a valid set up any more because you'd lose if you ran burst combos in warrior, you wouldn't make it that far. I'm not saying all control decks should be fatigue but it is important for control classes to have a ton of removal to deal with all the aggressive shit that is sloshing around in the meta. It is purely a snowball.

if he had cards to play the same time you had your dead turns, well.... it would be his win. I think Reno Lock has the biggest chances (strong burst potential) if any of the control decks have... or miracle Rogue. for Example, control warrior crumbles if i play to much jades as shaman (non aggresive version).

Shouldn't Kibler have withheld Kazakus to get Brann value? His line of play made his Brann kind of weak, though perhaps it would have been too risky to wait for Brann and play the long game against Jade Druid

Dumb mistake on the druids part. If you're planing on going that far into the lategame with that ridicolous idol spell you basically HAVE to have a Gadgetzan Auctioneer in there just for the ridicolous combo turn that it enables as you cycle through a minimum of 4 idols

They should have made it so that when you summon a jade golem, the cost of the card increases one That's my take on it, so it doesn't get too crazy by the end, but it probably won't get played as much. And Druids will lose more often from other jade decks, just an assumption and an idea

I'm no expert in HS balancing issues, but let's just say I stopped playing this game altogether after this patch because I can't compete against jade-Druids without spending lots of money to craft up-to-date power cards as a control player.

Jade decks really need some synergy requirement... Like dragons, if you don't have a dragon in hand, your other cards suck. Like only +1/+1 if a Jade golem is already in play or something, which would slow them down slightly at least... Jade is too easy for how effective it is.
@luckyowl1681
@luckyowl1681 8 жыл бұрын
Er... Jade IS a synergy of sorts. One needs to build the momentum with Jade Golems on top of more Jade Golems... otherwise, it's utterly worthless. At least, in my experience.
@PhazonOmega
@PhazonOmega 8 жыл бұрын
All this about Jade Druid, but what about the +1/+1 decks? Those things are awfully strong, too. I'm not disagreeing Jade is super strong, and possibly overpowered, but I feel it's not alone. Both archetypes JUST came out, and every new expansion should change up the meta at least a little, so we need to give it more time before we start calling Blizzard on how unbalanced Jade is. Besides, people are ALWAYS complaining about some deck or another being cancer (Zoolock, Undertaker Hunter, Dr. Boom, etc.). Blizzard also responds to a lot of it, such as nerfing Undertaker, not to mention it's those kinds of decks that create the meta in the first place, possibly in every card game. It's a very old, tiresome trope to be complaining about a certain deck being cancer, and Jade is no different.

For the sake of anyone reading this: Pointing out one minor detail of an entire post does nothing to truly challenge the statement. It's fairly arbitrary whether I use 1 example or 3, as I don't really have to provide any examples in this case. If you'd prefer I gave more, fine; that's your opinion. But be careful that you're not just nit-picking. I only gave one example because I wanted to keep the post short (as I can over-write), and I didn't want to exhaust all of the examples out there. I could just as easily given a shorter list of things people have described as cancer. Even if Blizzard didn't do much with people's complaints, that doesn't mean they don't listen or fix things. In fact, I've seen Blizzard respond VERY well to fan feedback in the general Blizzardverse, and I'd expect that many "problems" I hear complained about in Hearthstone are never "fixed" because they're not actually problems, or because they're not a big enough deal to fix (e.g. it will soon be out of Standard, and then won't matter).

Jade druid is also very boring, though, tbh. Boy oh boy I do love me some generic stats and some more generic stats with a few spells in between. So much fun. At least with Zoo, you had lots of little basic arithmetic and stuff to entertain you, and it felt satisfying to have so many choices of things to play. And most of those minions at least had half-interesting effects. With Jade Druid, it's literally just generic power block minions, it's yeugh.

They fucked up majorly with this expansion. I used to love playing this game until every match up was against a jade druid or pirate warrior. It makes you wonder what goes through the designers heads when making these cards. I'm convinced they don't test the cards and just throw them out there.

Didn't kill anything but Control Warrior, imo. Haven't seen a single CW deck since the expansion's release. I don't even know how it could possibly thrive in the current meta, as it get's outclassed by Jade and Reno decks. Only thing that works for Warrior now is aggro and some mid-range decks.
