Enjoyed your BMPCC OG video so much. I also love filming with this beautiful tiny camera and love its minimal philosophy. I shoot using a table tripod (or a light tripod) or handheld. Love the footage that comes out of this minimalist camera!! Hope to see more on the BMPCC OG on your channel!

Great review, thanks.. how's the lowlight capability, noise level? OG has dual iso? I'm considering OG / FP for the size formfactor
@phongkhachcuajun-pkcj
@phongkhachcuajun-pkcj Жыл бұрын
Hey, I forgot to include some night footages, but I have shot a Music Video during nighttime, by a bus stop. You'll need a fast lens like Sigma 17-50 f2.5 + speed booster for a decent lit footage. About the Noise, I have noticed if you cranked the ISO above 400, you'll need Noise Reduction node in Davinci Resolve. Slow you down a bit but it's worth it. The OG does not have the Dual ISO, I was about to mention ,regarding the ISO, the native ISO is 800, but it is more like 400 on other camera. Lower ISO helps reduces Noise, but also reduce the Dynamic Range. Shoot Raw for easy swiching, the ISO can be change in RAW in post

Hi, The camvate cage fit the OG from multiple members in BMPCC OG group, and one of my friend has tried it. However, Will von Tagen is now making new cage for the OG, you should check him out.

@@phongkhachcuajun-pkcj Hi! Ok cool, will look further at group re: cage. Yes, looked at that cage but very similiar to the Viewfactor cage I already have. Lots of research to choose that cage, and while I totally appreciate the need to kit the og bmpcc out (as was my plan!), after trying to w' VF cage (very solid and capable w' custom wooden grip I added), given all the other challenges of the camera, and how unwieldy it had become, I decided I wanted to keep it as small as poss, as a B/C camera, either handheld - no rig or tripod mounted. I designed a prototype cage, of sorts, with 2 x aluminium L brackets, sugru grip, bolts into bracket, gun grip and a palm sized battery w' 5v output into a voltage buck converter to 12v (usb-c PD triggers proved to not work so well), metabones Nikon-F speed booster, Sigma 18-35mm ART lens, a Kinotehnik diopter (started with Zacuto and returned - overpriced and crap!) and as dodgy as the above sounds - it's deceptively well held together and works beautifully! (Materials obvs need improvement, but design is solid and strong where it needs to be). At least for me this is the ideal setup for this camera, hrs of battery, diopter holds steady on eye, grip makes holding viable for my mid-large hands, even with the 18-35mm - which gives it enough heft for stabilisation. I created a gallery: photos.app.goo.gl/6tpV8gPPZgHehs587 Actually looking at the Camvate to substitute for the L bracket in my design. Does this mean that any EOS &/or a6400 cage will work?

@@viddotcoach As far as I know, only the Camvate EOS cage has enough clearance for the OG, and I've seen pictures of it fitting on the OG. I've done the research myself and 6400 cage are not adaptable to the OG. hope this helps

Did you buy the camera from eBay? Are both lenses with image stabilization? How much rig would I need if I wanna shoot in hand with a lens that doesn't have image stabilization?
@phongkhachcuajun-pkcj
@phongkhachcuajun-pkcj Жыл бұрын
Hey, I did not buy from ebay but Facebook marketplace in my City, Ho Chi Minh. I've been experimenting different lenses over my videos. The last Optically Stabilized lenses that I've used are Lumix 14-42, and Sigma 17-50 OIS (EF mount). Both are decent but the 14-42 performed quite poorly. The Sigma was sharp and well paired, but it is too heavy. => Panasonic 12-35 OIS is a great reccomendation ( but I hate it lacks Aperture and mechanical focus). About non stabilized lenses, I've shot with slr 8mm and Nikon 28mm and I've been so comfortable and satisfied with the result. I love that minor handheld shakyness of the Nikon, SLR does not shake as much. My rig is okay to shoot on hand, but you can invest in a top handle or shoulder rig for the best result.

Thanks for sharing, the Panasonic G7 and the BMPCC OG is the cameras to get, I got three of them both. There are lots and lots of cheap vintage lenses you can use with adapters on theses cameras. here is one I used in low light kzbin.info/www/bejne/o53WdX6bnLuGj6c

First! Thanks for sharing, you definitely have skills 🤙 I wish you a lot of fun with this camera, I just got mine two months ago and I am still learning, still failing and still very exited about it. It has many quirks as well as strengths but I have one issue, that I actually mean to adress: The aliasing/moiré, it is a bummer. Sometimes more, sometimes less. What's your experience with this so far? I'm looking for a broken Canon 300D for the olpf that BMPCC OG USER here on KZbin was successful in adding to the original olpf that is already in the BMPCC. Again, nice work! Have fun! PS: Got mine for 600€ with original packaging, all the stuff that came with it including 3 batteries that have been useless even when they were brand new 😂 so not much *but* also a Nikon F 0.71 speedbooster that I don't have a lens for yet but plan on getting some wide DX zoom lens. Used, 50-100€ 🤷🏻‍♂️ Should be better than my trusty, rusty olympus lens that unfortunately has got some visible fungus.

Hey, I noticed people tend to overstate the Moire. The Iphone has tons of Moire and people still don't notice it. The only thing I would focus on is an interesting story. The Nikon Speed Booster is great, I use Vintage Nikon lens but adapt it into EF mount, the F mount won't be a problem. Your set was in great price, my total investment into this camera, including storage, monitor, lens, battery cost me about $1000, but over a span of 6 months. So great find! I don't think you'll need to change the filter, if it's not so cloudy, don't bother.
@uhuhno6441
@uhuhno6441 Жыл бұрын
@@phongkhachcuajun-pkcj Yeah it's not so much the moiré but more so the aliasing that bothers me. There are instances when guitar strings are just too jagged and strands of hair look like they've been over-sharpened @720p And I'm not a fan of moiré either, I don't want every single mesh material to look like someone spilled fuel on them. I work with what I have because it is very usable as is but if I can clean up the colors a bit more or get rid of artifacts, I will do that.

@@uhuhno6441 Maybe attach a filter in front of the lens first? Someone on KZbin showed that ProRes reduce the artifacts than Raw. Hope that helps
@uhuhno6441
@uhuhno6441 Жыл бұрын
@@phongkhachcuajun-pkcj Yeah but no, then I'd have to get a filter for every lens I have. They all can break and it's just too much of a hassle. Also it doesn't seem to fix the issue as well as the old 300D olpf, maybe because it's not just an olpf but also has an ir cut underneath. That 'ghetto' hack really is working better than one might think. Edit: Oh and RAW... it's so much better regarding dynamic range and general everything except the moiré and stuff but my computer doesn't like it. It chops it up and re-arranges the images, speeds 💩 up and slows it down and makes sure nothing works. Edit: It wasn't my computer, it was the card or rather the camera not not 100% accepting it despite it delivering spec-wise.

@@uhuhno6441 Too bad RAW is the best thing about this camera. Good luck with the filter, I hope you can sort that out. I'm too lazy and easy going to mod the IR filter myself. BTW, I'm planning to make a video about "BlackMagic Should make a BMPCC OG mark 2" soon. Hope you enjoy the camera like I do.
