Man. 16mm overscan with sprockets AND super 8 sprockets at the same time. And people seem to love it. Strange times.

I used these Switar lenses on 16mm Bolexes back in '90's film school. They're expensive. For organic digital I would instead go for a good, cheap 25mm or 35mm c-mount CCTV lens. Pentax makes a gorgeous 25, and Fujian's dirt cheap 35 is the most underrated lens on the planet.

Amazing! I have some Bolex lenses and really want to use on my Canon 6d Mark II or Canon RP. Do you know what adapter i have to use? Thx a lot

Lovely video. I was wondering what issues you were having adapting your 16mm zoom lens to the bmpcc4k? does the adapter you used for the 26mm F1.1 not work? I ask because Im looking to get a cinema zoom to pair with my bmpcc4k and modern cinema zooms are so bulky and much too expensive.

Love the look! I also have a few c-mount lenses but can't adapt them to the pocket 4k. Won't let me focus to infinity. What adapter are you using?

Looks awesome mate! Well done. The Bolex had me drolling.

you have to set the cameras format selection to 2.5 mode to crop in for those lenses...another words you cant shoot in 4K mode, there's different shooting modes in the menu

Great look, wish the lens wasn't $1k+ though :( Any good (cheaper) alternatives?
@ludekaschenbrenner80254 жыл бұрын
Tevidon and Meopta Openar lenses are a very good alternative for a good price. But it has to adapt to the MFT connection, I can do it. See here: altechnologies.cz/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/DSC_0201.jpg

You can still find Bolex camera packages with (3) prime Switar lenses for around $350 US. You don’t need that 25mm version to get great footage.
@rayzan95614 жыл бұрын
This is an RX lens for Bolex. It is only meant to be used in Bolex Reflex cameras and is optically adjusted for that. Otherwise, it yields poor results.

I normally dislike film emulations. I'd rather go for the real thing, and for photography I do. But for video personal projects film is just too expensive to justify. So this solution looks actually good.

sorry but no. keep it amateur. i've been shooting super 8 and 16mm for 10 years. it is not 16mm because all the over exposure you would make with this shit just looks awful. With a real 16mm thats a magical thing which never happens on film. Im pretty tired of people faking analog film with digital gear. film is not better than digital though. all have its cons and pros.
