Cheers Jimmy, Im not a professional mechanic, just a keen diyer. Not sure why but i love wathing all these DPF videos 😂 Your last 335d video helped me sort out my own 2006 330d's DPF. Kept getting reblocked due to a boost leak, dead glowplugs and warter thermostat. Once all parts were replaced/fixed and DPF foam cleaned, mine wouldnt do a regen until the DPF had been reset. Has now been happy for nearly a year with no signs of reoccurring... yet 😅 Thanks again 👍

The M57 is a superb diesel lump, it’s regularly compared to the Merc OM 606, albeit with a few plastic bits.

That’s one smart bit of kit you got there and you’re bloody marvellous with it. I wished you lived near me. 👍👍👍👍👍

Cheers Jimmy, it ran well for the mileage.

The connection points where the boost hoses join to the intercooler are also horrendous for leaking under boost on this engine (and also the sealing rings on the inlet manifold)

Great video jimmy, what’s the chemical contents of the launch cleaner? Does it say on the label?

Just discovered your channel- like it very much. Thanks. Working through your vids and they all seem to be DPF related. At the risk of sounding stupid, is this because you specialise, only select these jobs for this channel or because it is the number one cause of brake downs?

My guess it that some or many mechanics have problems identifying and fixing DPF errors, and the very eminent O'Rileys Autos has fixed so many and has gained a reputation as the DPF guru. Bot true that he can walk on water, though!

A good feature to have on a scan tool would be provision for holding Rev's while your doing such tests/cleans etc... (scan tool manufacturers take note)

I suspect that you might be able to set a rev limit.

A 330D is such a nice car to drive whilst being not too bad on the fuel consumption. Seems a shame that that 330D is not getting more use. But then it's the owner's car and they are welcome to do whatever they want with their property.
@chiefrocka86048 ай бұрын
Not too bad on fuel ?? Are you mad ??? I’ve got a manual 530d and 330d convert and they both do well,over 50mpgbonna run and both are remapped with supporting mods and dpf mapped out… not bad 🤣 what’s it gotta do to be good for some mad people 🤣🤣🤣
@lint83918 ай бұрын
@@chiefrocka8604 Honda Insight Mk1, Audi A2 1.2 TDI are 2 examples of cars that are good on fuel. I've not been able to average over 50 mpg from my (unmodified) 2010 330D auto. My 2003 Volvo S60 D5 manual was better on fuel than my BMW. But then considering the straight line and cornering performance of the 330D, the 40ish mpg I get from mine is "not too bad".

Great Video.. thNks for warning about forcing DGF regens when DPF pressure is too high, not wanting to damage it. I Couldnt help but notice at the end that the check Engine light was still on, will this clear by itself or was this another fault?
@StelioKontos-wk9km9 ай бұрын
🤦🏻♂️ it was clearly an older part of the vid. Ie: edited in so he could show the mileage. No the fault isn’t going to “clear itself” 🤡

What PSI do you have your compressor set to when you have the DPF cleaner gun hooked up and squirting it into the pressure sensor?
@StelioKontos-wk9km9 ай бұрын
Maybe if you watch the video 🤷🏻♂️ he’s also answered this 100 times

Full whack which is 131 psi.

Ptior to you sorting these problems when was the last time the bonnet was lifted? I know the guy has a smaller car for commuting but even so it appears to have been severely neglected.

Watch the video again, he said he got it wrong about the smaller car. The other car was a Porsche 😂

@@chrisbennett7983 It ,makes no difference what his other car is, it still doesn't alter the fact that the BMW has been severely neglected!

Anyone know what the DPF Sensor cone adaptor Jimmy uses, from gun to pump the launch cleaner in, is called / what size is best & where to get it. Thanks in advance.

The revs were zero, so only the ignition was on not the engine, so the dash lights always come on, and when you start the engine and the cars running they would of gone off in a second or two, so when you buy a car always make sure these engine dash lights come on and the abs light etc , as it's been known that people remove the dash lights to not show faults with the car. The exclamation mark is normally the hand brake on, or low brake pads or fluid
