Nice review, had mine for just over 6 months now, managed to get over 60kms on a single charge, but it was optimal conditions (90kph cruise, plain road, mild weather). Realistically I get 40-50km around city with A/C on. Still a very good value proposition if daily charging is available at home or work, as daily commute can be done in EV alone.

I can't believe that BMW charge extra for black trim. Until a few years ago, most cars had black trim as standard. Then manufacturers started introducing silver (chrome?) trim for extra bling. Now on BMWs you have to pay more for black, which I prefer, but which is no more costly to produce.

You CAN combine horse power. You get 38 miles on electric. You get 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. It’s also faster than my 330i. It’s extra 276 kilos with batteries. If there’s anything else you would like to know, please feel free to ask.

After the electric range is over, what is the mileage you get on gas alone?

Just picked up a used 2019 one of these and it’s still great. I get about 35km on a full charge but it’s very variable. It’s a very quick car. I love that i can drive around for day without using a drop of petrol. I’m totally the type of person to charge it every day 😉

Guys one doubt on luxary phev like bmw benz lexus and audi too.. are there high voltage battery cost to replace after 8 years of warranty incase for example 10k euros or 12k dollars. Or 9k pounds. If you save fuel on luxary brands monthly 100 10 years 10200. Then whats the point of phev on luxury? Battery is batter at one point you should replace. After warranty is ticking time bomb unlike petrol or deisel engines which are relaible. Otherhand same timming chain or combustion engine servivimg costs also same in phev

Good review Anthony. I've had mine for a year now and I love it. Came from an Audi S3 and although it's slower than the Audi it handles better.

Thank you for a very well thought-out review. I especially liked your very practical-minded comments concerning the car's shortfalls if the owner/operator fails to charge the battery. Your review was directed towards the typical buyer and not just towards the BMW performance aficionado and I appreciate that. FYI, we live in the USA and had ordered a 2020 330i, but have definitely decided to purchase the 330e instead, based on your review.

Would love one of these. I have the current shape 520d ( 172 one) but it’s too big and cumbersome. The wife thinks it’s too big also, as we had 3 series for years and I think il go back down to the 3 again . As diesel is fucked the hybrid is a good way to dip the toe in . I heard the extra weight is well disguised

Thank you for the review. My car came with a cable rated at 8amps maximum. So it takes me around 8 hours. What is the rating on the cable in the test car (I'm in Australia, so that's probably why our cables might be different)
