You forgot to mention which way the arrows should point when installing said filters if arrows are present. Some filters also have a cutout to prevent incorrect installation but some filters dont.

What does this actually do? Lile what does the car gain from changing these to 2 k&n filters or pipercross?

No point K&N on this and doubt they even do a pollen filter. As above...stops all the shit from getting in and can also if left cause misting of the Windows.

The filters contain activated carbon. That is great at absorbing organic chemicals out of the air, but the pores of the carbon will fill up and you have to change the filter to keep getting the cleansing effect.

In the US, I had 2 sensors on the passenger side which I had to disconnect and remove.

Lynn Davis I believe that’s just an indication that the hood is either in the open or close position

No need to remove sensors if you choose not to. Just flip the cover on its back to remove existing filter, install new filter then flip it right side up again
