The 640s are absolute beasts, by far the best product the Bavarians have hewn for years. The new stance looks killer, point & squirt...like a rabid animal.

Hi, can you tell if the springs was lowered 20mm all thee way round or 25mm front and 20mm rear. do you have the product number please. There is so many versions from eibach and i want the same look as yours.

Think it was all the way round buddy 20mm + spacers. Best bet is to speak with Mike and the team at Motech whom i would highly recommend.

Hi mate - great video. I just bought a 640d myself and looking to do this exact modification. All websites however have springs that are lowered at 25mm in the front and 20mm on the back. Are you aware if that was the case with yours? Cheers

Hello CMD. I have the same model and am thinking of the spring and filter change (not sure what the spacers improve other than the wheel looks?), but I was wondering how it affected your insurance costs and warranty?

The springs and spacers / filter meant a very small increase to insurance premium. I would always advise speaking with your insurer before going ahead with the mod.

You don’t happen to know how to fix a tail indicator playing up on 640i? I’m in NZ and been quoted 1500nzd for a tail indicator!

Car Mad Dad thanks for the reply. Looks like if the LED rear indicator fails it's the whole unit to replace :( 1175nzd here or 232 pounds where you are! eBay and wait on this side of the world to save $$$.

Great video, own exactly the same motor and year! shared your views on lack of content when researching. Any plans for a power upgrade? Quite intrigued by a tuning box, although I wish to maintain the warranty! I will be following with anticipation as I’m at the stage of getting a bit board with the car (still love it though) I’m thinking a few upgrades might just be the ticket...

Hi Warren... No plans at present for a power upgrade as the air filter and stance appear to have made enough of a difference to keep me entertained and more than happy for now. I did look into a tune up and briefly discussed this with Motech who really know their stuff in this area. Can highly recommend the upgrades as they've kept me in the car for far longer than I expected!!! Has drastically improved the look of the car too! Keep me posted! ;0)

Hi pal Seen you did the springs on the 640d Are the springs Universal and what did you use? As my spring snapped 🤑 Ps i see your was dropped 20mm but i was told factory m sport is 30mm drop....so did it go up 10mm?

Hi Stephen The springs were made by Eibach - installed at Motech. I would not recommend mixing stock with aftermarket at all. No the drop was a further 20mm beyond that of the m sport spring Would highly recommend for this car (with spacers) Really sets it off.

Marginally more likely to scrape (Especially the nose) but only on very rare occasions

Better - springs slightly softer (however less travel). Also remember that mine does NOT have adaptive in which case I might have not bothered. On reflection the mod has worked perfectly well. Very pleased

Hi Chap Yes - sorry, quite a large (and important) piece of information missing there... All parts and work came in at £750. If you need a quote - I wouldn't hesitate to contact Mike or Patrick at Motech... They are very good.

Did it occur to you that BMW just might know a bit more about the handling of a 6 Series than you do ? Weird that the OCD only extends to the BMW wheel badges and not the car's handling and stability due to the fitment of spacers and lowering of suspension that will ruin the car's TCP and toe-in set up.
