Thanks for the video, Cody. After contemplating what you went through, I pulled units above the relay out and just shot the battery cleaner into the receptacle... let it stand for about 15-20 minutes, plugged the relay back in - problem solved! Appreciate the work you did, which led to my concluding the battery cleaner would seep down through the holes and do the job without having to pull the whole thing apart. :-)

I soldered the wires directly to the relay (I had to extend the harness as well as the loom was too short) and add a few drain holes. Make sure to clean all 3 ofthe relay connections (R36,R37,R94) while you are there. Mine was filled over the relay height with washer fluid! I also relocated the relays to the top of the box and made new mounting points. Nothing like German engineering when it comes to having to repair their DESIGN faults.

Did you unwrap the main loom at the bottom of ebox to get the extra slack on the connector wires?

Hi I seen your clip on wiper relay BMW 740il. Great info,on my 97 740il their's a yellow ABS relay where the Tan relay should be as I seen in your clip. Also two .violet/purple-ish relays paired up.I need advise from a pro. Can you help ? I live in Washington state, it rains alot

+Ramon Estrella My '97 is having the same issue with the 2 purple relays not tan. Those are the wiper relays. Just not a lot of room to work :(

Did you disconnect the battery and if you didnt when you unplug the ECU does it need to be program

The location can be different but bmw loves to put electrical right where water goes so you prob had a wire about to go from corrosion and the accident finished it. Ill add the to the forum tonight so you can ask or show pics on there. www.codythecarguy.com/forum And Merry xmas to you too !
