I use videos like this to guide me on the various vehicles I work on. No two cars are ever exactly the same. With that being said, this has to be one of the BEST videos on youtube. I seriously wish people would do tons of stuff like this. It made my job 1000% easier and probably helped me get the job done 40% faster than without this video. Good work! Hope to see lots more.

Piece. of. fucking. shit. (Edit: wow I was mad, sorry for this. At least it doesn't start so I can't blow it up just yet :D)

I have watched a lot of different videos for the intake removal. Im glad you show more of the removal process. Would be nicer to see more of the intracacies of the process. You showed a few steps that none of the other videos showed. Thank you. Despite having an e39 myself. I was absolutely shocked how hard it was to find an instructional that showed the 99 e39 and not the 97. Great job. Now i just have to refer to this vid a few times so i can get the darn thing back in

You would be the right person to do that:) I hope you do . Keep up the great work . You have helped me a lot with my BMW

Great video. Thank you and appreciate your videos.I am a little bit unsure how you managed to remove the fuel rail without lots of fuel spilling all over the place. I assume you purged the fuel rail first but i dont believe you shared that part in the video. I note this because its probably the single most dangerous and potentially messy part of this manifold removal process. Overall your videos are really clear and well presented.Awesome. Also was wondering if you could have included mentioning replacing the heater hoses that sit under the manifold since you have the manifold off and its accessible. Would really be a waste for someone to remove the manifold and then get the car going and one of those heater hoses in the block starts leaking and they have to take the manifold off again. LOL

The only injector clip I dropped was #2 and it went in the hole between #1 and #2 intake runners. I kid you not, it made it all the way to the floor. I could drop a clip in that hole a hundred times and it would only make it to the floor 2 or 3 times. I feel the repair has been blessed from on high.

Great video as usual. Recently had replaced Oil Pan Gasket, Oil Filter Housing Seal and Intake Manifold on my BMW 323i 1999. After these changes, I am seeing rough cold start idle/limp mode. After some time, the problem goes away after restart of car. While car was in rough Idle, I captured the error codes P0120, P1542 and P2042. I do not have any problem after first cold start till next day morning. Reading article which says may be my Throttle Body plug is loose or spark plugs need replacements. Today morning I performed throttle body adaptation reset and car worked just fine. Any suggestion or expert comment?

Great job making this video and explaining what each part your removing is call as I’m new to working on BMW. At the start it was a little hard to see what you were removing if you can get a small LED light in put in under were your working it would make it a lot easy to see the dark spots. I look forward to seeing other videos you make. Especially if its show the vanos filter location for this model of engine. All the other on you tube or for other models of the engine but none for my 2005 BMW X3 3.0 Thanks.

Hi. I am big fan of yours. Lot of your videos really helps me a lot. I own a 530i E39. Last month, I did a job replacing both the water pipes under the last month. I do removed the intake manifold during replacing both pipe. After a month I noticed i keep losing coolant at around 500ml in 2 weeks. Then I started to check for leakage & found coolant at the behind thermostat where the both pipe were connected. I suspected that I might not push further enough one of the pipe into the manifold. My question is, it is possible me to pull out a little bit both pipes without removing the intake manifold? I just wanna pull out a bit & replace the O-rings on the behind thermostat side. The other side no leaking. Both pipes were original BMW

How did you go about removing the gasket on the manifold? I can't even get a start on pulling that sucker out. Any fluids or heat or something?

On an 316i m43b19 engine, do i have to disconnect the whole engine wiring harness? Cause i can't get the manifold out, the harness is in the way. There are wires that go down to the starter and further down somewhere near the front axle, i can't reach them
