BMW E60 5 series How to code AUX in Idrive ncs expert step by step

filmed a video on how to code in AUX in the Idrive for the E60 5 series BMW (should apply to most BMW coding on other series). step by step on using NCS expert to add +NAUX to the VO vehicle order and mounting the AUX to the CCC (or m.ask) module. coding necessary for auxiliary cable to function.
Revtor's NCS Expert Profile is the profile i used to code the module. profile can be downloaded by searching Google.
BMW coding cable can be purchased on eBay, and usually comes with all the necessary programs to install on your computer.

I ordered your cable, installed it in the glove box no problem thanks to your other video showing the install. I'm using a newer version of ncsexpert, so it was slightly different. Like revtor's profile wasn't valid. so I used the factory settings profile for all my coding. It worked like a charm. Thanks for the great video!

Hello, hope you can help me with an issue I’m having, I did this steps on my E60 that does have Nav. Step by step and it did work perfect. The problem is that I tried doing the same on my other E60 that does not have Nav and only used to show FM AM CD After I finished doing that second car it appeared more options now shows FM AM W SAT AUX but aux does not work on car, can you help me find out what I did wrong?

I solved the problem by letting someone who knew what they where doing program my AUX, and it took 3min and now its working. Have no idea what he did or what program he used.

Bought your cable, had a lot of trouble getting the code part of it working, had numerous errors with my ncsexpert software like profilversion 2.0 inguilt and had also problems with pressing F6 which then pop up an error screen basically saying u need to update sp.daten tried updating it didnt get it to work....but then after creating a win XP virtual machine on my windows 10 OS and adding in all the required frameworks ..... i got it to work thank god, i then followed these steps and i successfully coded in an AUX option into my BMW WOHOOOOO. if anyone needs help send us a message.

if AUX shows up on idrive then yes you already have your car coded for AUX, all you need to do is plug in the cable

Its nice however it gives lots of headache for E63 as NCS expert does not recognise the car! Giving errors such "Faulty Chassis" then you force it and finally realises thats an E63 but still giving loads of errors. For E60 its fine but not for E63.

u seem to know a bit I have the X6 - E71 and I just hate the multimedia system and navigation.... its so oldschool and alot of missing stuff... I went from Volvo XC60 2013 to BMW X6 2013 and the Volvo felt so much more professional and its just retarded for example, I cant see any icons on the navigatior, example Parking Lots, Restaurants and so on, and I go by Car thrue Europe so it sucks so hard to not see it, on the Volvo I could see gas stations and stuff while driving so I could just go there when I wanted and needed without looking for signs also No radio info, no info about the songs or anything from the radio stations... also bluetooth info rarely Works...does not display songs or stuff Are there any aftermarket systems? like an android One or something to make it better its just so bad for such an expensive Car imo

Question, i managed to add AUX to the VO However when I go to open the config file to change from unmounted to mounted, I don't see this option. I see an option relating to aux, which I changed from nicht activ to activ after adding aux to VO. This seems to have enabled the aux option on my idrive screen, however I'm getting no sound when I music from device that's connected to the aux port. It's a very early 6 series, I did think something was up when I didn't see the mounted/unmpunted options and only saw nicht activ / activ. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

3. My car doesn't have nav, so there is no CAPPL module. You have to use the MASK module instead to enable the aux in port (as said in the video). However there is no AUX_CONFIG. Solution: There should be an AUXIN attribute in your MASK module. Change that from nicht_aktiv to aktiv and use the same steps as in the video to actually write it to the car.

wow thats the first i heard of that. is the AUXIN the online string you changed to aktiv? of all the people who ive coded cars for or have coded it them selves this is the first i heard of this. uploading a blank .man file restores all setting to factory.

do you have a spare key? try using it with the spare key (win information is tied to keys, sometimes one will work and one doesnt). also only time ive seen the vin is faulty is when someone replaced their CCC for one with another car and the VIN wasnt coded with the new modules, it wasnt able to read it.

If you backed up name that file as the .man file and upload it. Or uploading blank .man file will restore it back to factory settings. DO NOT set anything the Altiv that you don't know what it is. You could cause major damage if you do.

Can you guide me a little to that? I think it went wrong somewhere else. There where a few things diffrent at my end. At first it gave me some weird error, managed to fix this wit the D-KAN utilities manager. Then i could read the car. But when saved the files to the computer AUX_CONFIG said Mounted i didn't had to change anything. Just did the last step and AUX was there. So long story short i did not had to change anything in the files just save em as .MAN

ive noticed some people would have this issue...usually when the computer resets itself after about 10 minutes, aux will appear.

i believe you just add the cdc to the vo, i think that thing your talking about takes the place of the cd changer like the dension products do

thanks for the tips on the windows 7 setup, lots of people ask about it and i haven't been able to help since i use windows xp on that computer. like you said your MASK for non navigation was AUXIN, keep in mind not all MASK modules will say AUXIN but AUX_CONFIG, very rarely do i see AUXIN, but like rubenve79 said, simple change to AKTIV. thanks again glad the video helped.

I really think you should have 3 videos. 1st. Explain that there are 3 tasks to complete. Your first video should have referenced the needed ODBII cable and how to get the needed software and it's requirements. I'm guessing you didn't do this because most customers would not step into the burdensome process. 2nd. Explain the hardware install. 3rd. Walk through programming.

ebay item number 110843646633 is the coding cable i use, and have recommended people to buy. software i can link you to a file sharing site i have them uploaded to. far as using it on a mac, you would have to use parallels or similar program to run windows xp on. i havnt done it, so i cant offer much tech help on that.

Your car should already be installed with the Aux port. Could be located in the glove box or rear end of the centre console.
