I've been looking on aliexpress as well and message a couple of sellers...they all are selling them a bit higher than what you got it for. One or two also mention that they "zero to 60" supplied your kit tough to find who exactly is your supplier. So guys beware!! Actually a lot of suppliers are from the same factory or even the same supplier using different names....also if you are speaking to them directly.....you need to speak to them with basic English as they won’t understand comprehensive English....just my 2 cents

If it's going to be a while before they get you the right brackets for the rear, I'd be interested in your thoughts and test results with just the front kit installed. Then can do a comparison with the full kit installed and the overall difference. Love the vids and honest results, keep it up.

Little tip, put some pressure on the brake pedal when changing brakes like a piece of wood or something and your brake fluid won’t leak out the reservoir!

If the fitment of the brakelines is to your liking just cut one of the rubber grommets from the old lines. Cut the spring to size, put the grommet on the new line and push it in the bracket. Secure it with a zip tie and your done.

Definitely relocate and use the rubber grommets even if you have to cut the spring. Otherwise the bracket will chaff through the hose and cause fluid/pressure loss

Those oem 18" are style 162 and came on the sport package in North America, and likely in all markets.

Fit a piece of slit rubber hose over that section of the brake line and zip tie it to the bracket.

I put Cadillac CTS-V Brembo 6 pots on a VE Commodore back in 2010 before it was the done thing... I had to drill out the front VE front hub holes by 2mm to fit the Brembo bolts. Just send it mate... Drill Away

Personally I'd cut the spring and move the gromit to where it should be. The spring it's just protection, so it won't do any harm to make space for the gromit where it should be

Cant tell from the video, but cant you twist the bung over the spring on ghe lines (expanding the hole slightly). Maybe with compressed air like with trottle grips?

Eh don't worry about brake fluid being "in the threads" just tighten it back up and it's fine. Won't cause an issue.

The factory should supply you with the proper brake lines front and rear for the money you paid. You might hire a translator for a phone call so they understand your problems, brackets hoses etc. Great job your becoming a BMW tech.

I intended to go the 380mm brakes in the future, APEX sells wheels that fit them no issue at 18 inches, the thing is the barrel clearance more than the wheel being 18´s or 19´s, there are actually some 19´s that dont fit them lol Just throwing that out there, the brake line I havent actually seen springs used to cover the line before, guess cutting the grommet or using zip ties will work

Yeah it would be more spoke design and offset. Offset would matter more.than anything else add a 20mm spacer (as bad as spacers are) and the back of the spoke wouldn't hit the caliper on the 18's I'm looking at factory F80 brakes and need to fit 18's still.. I know some will fit just yeah, how to get it fine. I don't want to have to spend thousands on aftermarket wheels right now lol

@macht yeah supossedly EC7 also clears them (the brembo ones), all the other will clear the 380 stoptech ones which I intend to go in the future and easily the f80 370mm ones. @flinchy more than the spacer unlike subarus here is a thing of caliper height, therefore the barrel clearance, yes there are some wheels that are specifically spoke clearance but its mostly the barrel. I dont want to spend thousands either so I will probably just change the front ones and eventually the rears

I would zip tie it to the bracket and check few days how the zip ties hold the brake line heat if so then it a cheap fix with zip ties

Happy to hear there going to send you the fix. But I can only imagine what they said to do.... do you have to send the wrong bracket back? Cause if you don’t I would make the brakes fit just to get them all fitted. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Cut the grommet off the old line so you don’t cut into the new line by mistake.

To remove the bleed nipples if you push the brake pedal down a bit and wedge it down with something like a pole You can then remove the bleed nipples without loosing any fluid

18inch F30 Wheels should fit the calipers because they come from the factory with 370mm.

You need to run some kind of spacer on the front wheels. Even though they do technically fit, what will happen is while you're driving, inevitably a stone will get kicked up and will wedge between the wheel and the caliper, scratching the face of the caliper.

@@ZeroTo60Tube It was on a forum years ago. Guys had wheels that barely fit over their brakes, but they were still picking up nicks and scratches and that's what turned out to be the cause. Now I can't say for sure that you don't have enough clearance because I can't look at it personally, but it's just something to keep in mind when you have really tight clearance like that. And as for a spacer, you can get them pretty thin. If I were you, I'd do some research as to what the minimum clearance for a BBK needs to be and maybe talk to some folks who have BBKs and see what their experience is. Maybe you've already done this. I really like the wheels you have BTW. I have the factory style 287 wheels on my 335xi and I've been thinking about upgrading lately.

I would actually advise against a spacer unless required to prevent contact. The face of the hub is hardened... spacers will likely be of a softer material/alloy unless you special order them. Just adds another failure point to the system. You can ask the "manufacturer", but they tend to be very conservative on fitment. (They will only tell you what the guide for that kit says on its fitment sheet and in my experience you have plenty of space beyond that). I have been running an 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap very similar to yours for years with 14" rotors in a 18" rim, never an issue. Calipers, rims etc will get scratched with or without a spacer.

That would help the spoke clear the fro t face of the calliper. But it was still hitting the side of the calliper. It was about 10mm from being able to get the centre of the wheel on the hub.

They’ll only spin so easily when the brakes haven’t been used. Once the the pads have been pushed in the disc there will be some slight contact and it will slow them down much fastwr

Hi Steve, unfortunately these are a do your own research and buy at your own risk type of ordeal and its one i wouldn't recommend. All the ali sellers get them from the same factory. So shoot some enquires and see who is the most helpful. Its the customer service that you need and that will depend on how bad they want your business. Remember the second you pay the money the service stops, so be careful. Regarding 18 inch wheels, they will only fit a wheel specifically designed to clear 380mm rotors. Most aftermarket 18s will not fit these brakes. Im not aware of any genuine BMW 18s that clear them.

@@ZeroTo60Tube No worries. I worked out the seller name. 18" wheels should work with 355mm rotors. But not much of an upgrade. Seeing if they can supply calipers for the standard 348mm rotors. Funny thing is that some of their pictures show 2 piece calipers but I don't think they are.

@@stevesas4744 Again just as a side of caution, you can not rely on them to supply what you need. You need to tell them exactly what you need. They say things with confidence eventho they have no idea what they are talking about. So be safe, get the cad drawings for the calipers and make sure they are 100% exactly what you need before ordering. Piston rations are super important. They say they have access to an engineer to confirm fitment. But think of getting an engineer to design something for you, but you are relaying all the info through a 8 year old child. What you request does not always make it to the engineer and what the engineer tells the seller doesnt not always make it back to you.

Brought a light weight LifePO4 battery with 900cca and 42ah capacity. Half the price of local supplier but was a big headache trying to find out what cells they use. I think many high end luxury cars use them. lighter and last longer lasting than lead acid. Also, they told me you purchased from Alibaba and not Aliexpress? Is this correct?

Dunno if you're aware, but bleed them using BMW INPA which is the best method to remove air in the lines bmw.spoolstreet.com/threads/inpa-dsc-brake-bleed.3319/

Yea I did a caliper job not long ago...got air in the ABS unit. What a nightmare...had to go through the INPA process like 6 times. Not fun.

The reality is, they are easy to find. If you have the knowledge needed to safely install these to your vehicle, you will easily be able to ask the ali express sellers the right questions to ensure you get what you need. If you can't do that, you should not be installing these brakes. We do not under any circumstances want to be involved with someone fitting something to their vehicle that could potentially be dangerous. Again if you have the knowledge an ability to safely install these, you will have the knowledge and ability to find them on Ali Express, if you can't, you SHOULD NOT be looking in to them.

The reason we want the link to the ones youve bought are as follows. 1.) We are extremely impressed with the quality 2.) The price for comparable on the site are much higher. 3.) The customer service that your are dealing with all be it a language barrier is much better than any of the other products ive bought off of aliexpress. We appreciate the concern for our safety, but those of us who are actually gunna shell out the 2k for a big brake kit are more then capable at defending ourselves. If possible could you work out a disclaimer or something of that sort that would negate any responsibility or make you feel more comfortable letting those of us who know what were getting into easier access?
