Bmw EWS + programming Key with AK90+ DIY

Good video did mine after I bought key off ebay over a year ago. had it cut for $20 they wanted another $90 to program. So I bought the AK90 for about half the price and did it myself. The car started right up afterwards let it rin for a while then programmed the keyless entry.

+Linoge279 hi, yes, not so difficult. Be dure u dont erase any other keys and you should be fine. U need to use AK90 to program the key otherwise the car wont start

Better disconnect the battery check your alarm cable . Turn off the battery sparkling cable , away start the car with new coil coads Until ready to register your new key modeling coad auntena without a new key your bypass is setup proppororly brake off the spring start is not repeatable. NO WARNINGS

My bmw e90 2007 3 Series won't start anymore. I got error code: 2A59 2A5B 2F44 This last 2F44 relates to EWS intervention. If I remove this white part and follow ur instructions, will my car start after this? Thanks

Hi, maybe someone knows. My problem: I change dde3.0, ews 3, ignition lock and key (because dde3.0 dead) but don't have driver doors lock, trunk lock, drawer lock with the set i change. Now i start car with the new key but lock with old one. I wondering maybe it possible programming orginal keys and ignition lock(antenna) with this software and tools ? I have orginal ews 3 too. You have to be very brave to read 2d47j mask with AK90 if you, have 0d46 its ok, 2d47 i would read and back up out of circuit x-prog and remember to use MCU- Freescale HC11(use hc 11adapter not hc 05, 2d47j with security. Its not nice if ak90 erases your chip

If key is starting the vehicle then it is programmed correctly. To code the remote fob you have to follow correct procedure. On some vehicles it is just a case of getting in the car turning the ignition to first click, turn off and remove key. Whilst holding the unlock button on the fob, press the lock button three times (after third press release both buttons at the same time). On some BMW models the Body control module has to be coded first using Autologic or easyDIS

Make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked. Use can use the master lock all doors switch or know or on a working key fob lock button if you have a working one. It doesn't matter as long as every docor in the car is locked including the tailgate or trunk. Now insert key into ignition slot and turn key just one click right before starting car but don't start the car. If you accidentally start up the car then just turn key the car and start over and retry again. Return key back to original start position and remove key from ignition. Hold down unlock button and then press unlock button three times then release unlock button. You will heard locks lock and unlock. For any other extra remotes you want programmed to the car all you have to do is just repeat the same button pressing combination you did with the first remote. You don't have to put the other keys in the ignition know the first key. You program all your other remotes all together in this session. Otherwise the other remote logk and unlock function will no longer work with the car. Must have all remotes with you that you want to control the car with.

Hi Guys, I just cannot read out my EWS3 0D46J and i cannot find a solution anywhere. 0D46J seems unreadable with the cheap AliExpress AK90.... i tested two AK90 Units and i also tested two EWS3 0D46J units with those. No success at all. one MCU is scraped to the bare metal of the pins, not possible, that there still is no connection. The other EWS3 i actually even soldered directly to the wires of the adapter to the AK90, still "PIN no touch", this is actually impossible and it is driving me insane... Possible that i just received trash AK90s from china? Someone has a link to buy an AK90 which is confirmed to work with the EWS3 0D46J? Thank you so much folks

@@amandasaiyasith7833trust me, you gotta defective unit. i had to order three times until i received a working one… Looks like theres a difference even between the cheap (~20USD) China AK90s.... i realized that all (even the BS ones) DO read the keys properly, but they are not able to program the EWS ("Pin no touch")… drove me mad! But at least in my case it was that the 2 not working Units didnt even had a Speaker mounted inside (so no "Beepbeepbeep" when reading the key), you can also check that by Opening the case and checking if theres a Speaker on the circuit board. The working unit (again, also 20USD) DID have a Speaker mounted. Thats of Course not the reason why it did work, but seems to be coming from another factory or something, the defective ones didnt even have the peaker mounted on the board… Maybe you check that and Keep ordering Units from different sellers on aliexpress until you get a fully working one (just open a case and say ist defective, you will be refunded, if it is crap) - you will find a working one. I would sell you mine, but i guess ist not worth the pain as i am in Germany and shipping will be rather expensive i guess… so good luck! I drop the link, where i ordered the third (working!) my problem exactly the same. Already purchased the second AK90 box (with a new adapter cable), but still exactly the same problem. I can read out the Data of my Keys, so i would say the box itself is hardly not broken... But when it comes to reading out the EWS3, i have no chance to establish a connection. Always "PIN No Touch".... someone got a workaround or anything to solve that?

@@reviewdiepie8003 I've purchased two of the same unit in the past with PIN NO TOUCH problem unsolved. Then, I purchased the third unit, and it miraculously worked for unknown reason. The only difference with working unit is that it makes clicking sound, when the unit is reading or writing. The first two malfunction units did not make much sound. So I suppose there are bad units out there, that does not work. Perhaps the later produced unit is updated to resolve this issue. Be aware that orienting the cable to the EWS in the incorrect orientation will most likely break the red box unit's board. Never attempt to orient in the incorrect socket, even for short testing.

Well, i tested two AK90 Units (both from AliExpress) and none of them did the business... third one is on its way, but im not full of hope actually. What kinda chills me - i bought another EWS3 from the junkyard with the same chipset and tried to read that one - no success neither. In my mind it only makes sense, that both of the Ak90 boxes i have right now are crap and non-working. I even tried to cut of the adapter and solder the 10 wires directly to the corresponding Pins of the MCU - still i get the PIN No touch error, which is hilarious... the box has to be defective. Hoping for the third one to get lucky with it as you did, bro. Can you tell me where you purchased the working unit? Maybe provide a link? Im quite sure, there are "two versions" one cheap non functional and one better one which is working. You did not have to provide additional power to the EWS while reading and writing, did you? Or did you use the "K-Line" adaptor? Just let me know, as you know thats highly frustrating and im searching desperately for a solution. cheers mate.

Hi mate, Sorry to hear that you have not been able to resolve issue. I was so frustrated on this issue, so I sympathize with you. The vendor I purchased was Your Car Diag Tool Store in China (Guangdong) Their sales rep., mentioned that they will guarantee its operation, so if it does not work, you can ask for a refund. On my first two AK90, I felt the problem was the connectors. I have done the same thing as you did by re-soldering the 10 wires, and shaving off the square plastic, and to expose the connectors to get the better contacts with adequate frictions. But unsuccessful on the two initial red boxes of AK90. Because of that experience, I tried not to fool around with the connectors and cable on the successive models. Regarding the additional power. I tried that by determining which connectors are positives and negatives(ground), and used external DC power, but it did not work neither. The K-Line adapter will not work because the multi-pin connector's pin assignments are different on the BMW Z3's EWS with 0D46J. I also purchased the same set of EWS for trial and error, but without any success. I'm not sure with other people, but on my case..., the only time it worked was with the red box AK90, (the third one purchased) which made the distinctive higher beeping sound, that are much quieter on the first two red box AK90s. So, I suggests try to use your first two units, and listen to the beeping sounds. Then compare it to the third one you have purchased. If it makes the louder beeping sounds, then the model you have may be the updated circuit board version, and that may work. You should ask for a refund on the first two defective models, if you can. As you have discovered by taking the white plastic covers on the cable connectors, try not to touch the soldered connections. I think many people would squeeze that solder area, and accidentally damage the connections. OK to push down the square plastic frame, but not OK to squeeze the soldered cable ends. This particular design in my mind, should be updated to more resilient (better) connector. If you encounter the same issue, then there must be thousands of defective AK90's in the market that were sold late 2018. Chinese manufacturers never disclose defective issues, so customers are out of luck for not getting the good product on their first attempt. Hope you will have a better luck next time.
