In my long experience, main dealers give lousy service…..excuse the pun! That’s why I’ve maintained my own cars for 30 years now. I’m at the stage I can pretty much do everything necessary up to and including timing belt renewal. The hardest part of being a DIY mechanic is the electronic side which is getting more intricate.

Worked in 2 dealerships best part of 9 years many years ago , Hyundai- Honda- VAG, Honda back then 👌🏼VAG electric problems 👎🏻, Hyundai transmission were shocking- synchro rings changes repeat repeat 💩 oh & daewoo 😂 a eye opener or should say eye watering , 90% warranty work with the worst warranty repair times , why people bought them was head scratching 🤷🏻♂️ dealers only want great KPI and profit - customer rapport was terrible , brake fluid being sucked out the reservoir and brake fluid dabbed on the bleed nipple to make it look that it was changed just to make bonus on the job , the front of the building with it shiny dealership badge and tinted windows but in the back of the workshop was shocking , independent all the way at least they have a better understanding for customers , good work baz , keep it going 🍻

Did a service on my old man's car last year, when I took the cabin filter out, it looked like a birds nest! Never been changed! It's a 17 plate, still on the original cabin filter, supposedly had the dealerships service it!

Main dealers looked after my Lexus for two years prior to me buying it. I look after four of my families cars so I'm fairly competent with a spanner. All the Lexus brake calliper pins were seized solid, there was oil spillage down the engine bay from them filling up, the back doors hinges were creaky along with several other issues that a main dealer should have sorted on the three services it received. I would never, ever go to a main dealer, anything above my skillset is taken care of by a local garage that looks very similar to your setup, well worn and rustic. 😂

Baz fantastic blog and video as usual, I’d travel to your garage with both my cars, quality services ❤️😉

Nice to see a proper brake fluid change most garages will suck the fluid out the master cylinder the top up with new and not even open a bleed nipple. The amount of cars I have in for service and the original cabin/pollen filter is still fitted in the car. great job again.

Personal opinion independent brand specialist tend to be the best place to go unless you know an independent mechanic and the work they do. Main dealers and chains such as quick fit are just about selling as many hours as possible however the mechanics are under pressure to complete jobs asap so often quality isn’t good

Main dealers get dozy apprentices to do the servicing who are more interested in their phone, drinking monster and debating which numpty apprentice is driving to the bait shop in your car.

No wonder people travel to your garage. I assume you are very involved in the garage quality control and training. There is no need to be modest. We can tell. Good luck.

I spoke to another wet belt specialist, and he said those serviced at Ford were in a better condition, as the correct Castrol oil was used.

My car came with full dealer service history at 100k. I should have submitted the pollen filter for signs of new life... it was that bad. Car now runs better than I bought it.. at 240k....

Very thorough indeed. My Piccanto was serviced by the dealer whist under warranty per their specs. But when I took over after warranty I could not move the brake nipples! I had paid for fluid changes per teh schedule but how they do it I do not know. Also the sump was rusted - no prevention at all. Big bills though.

Thinking of trying that Launch engine flush, is it safe to use on all cars? Do you have a discount code with them being a sponsor?
