Yeah that's bad. Though at least it being here it is means you'll look instead of this which seems like a regular shifter until you move it.

This is not a new shift movement, it's been in M DCTs for a few generations.

reverse is left than up because old bmw M cars which had manual transmissions had their reverse just go a bit more left than in 1st gear. so they sticked with that as tribute to old M manual cars. besides, you literally have it written underneath...
