Nice illustration of well done job. Just a few comments: - no need to mark the strut, it has a notch and a height stop which fit into the bracket. - no need to remove the strut out of the car, just detach the lower control arms. - no need to remove the wheel sensor. - if you don't own a strut splitter you can use a hex key much better than a chisel or screwdriver. Nevertheless nice informativ video which helped me a lot.

Thank you Oscar for this video and viewers for the comments! Using all seen and read information I was able to do this job. As mentioned earlier - break caliper comes off as a whole piece (2 18mm bolts). You don't have to mess with the strut assembly - just drop 2 arms down and one will come off from the top of the hub. AdvAuto Parts didn't have the separator tool, so I used an 8 mm ranch sideways and a flat screw driver which I lightly tapped with a hammer and that did the trick nicely and the wrench and the sdriver stayed in the gap nice and tight while I did the job. Sidenote: make sure you have 2 18 mm and 2 21 mm wrenches (I used one socket and one regular). Good luck!

Just remove the two 17mm bolts and remove the caliper in one piece rather than dismantling the caliper bit by bit.

Absolutely.

Good job,..but that's a cheap bearing! WoW! You're right,...it's an easy job,....I did this before on my E28 535is! Edit #1: Good Safety Tips! Edit #2: really,...you had to remove the ENTIRE StRUT to do the wheel bearing replacement! Hmm,...I think not! I will be searching for other vids on this!

Hi Do you have to lift the whole front end or is it enough to lift one side of the car?
@oscars-autorepair3236 Жыл бұрын
Good question, either way works just fine. I just find it easy to lift the whole front end

What electrical wrench is that you are using?
@oscars-autorepair32365 жыл бұрын
It's an Ingersoll rand w7150, with 1,100 ftlb of.nutbusting torque. Sometimes this tool is too powerfull that it will brake off rusted lug nuts. So be careful if you get your hands on one.

Hi francisco, try lifting the front tire with a jack and hold the tire on the 9 and 3 o'clock position and try to move the tire back and forth, and than rock it back and forth from the 12 and 6 o'clock position, if their is play your wheels bearing are bad. I hope this helps

Taking off the strut was not necessary, just drop the hub after removing the bolts on rhe control arm and tie rod, and the hub just comes off.
@OriginalAntbox6 жыл бұрын
Same goes for the caliper, just take the entire unit off, one peace. But whatever...

Hey Nathaniel, in considering replacing the whole rear hub assembly in my 07 E60. If I understand correctly, I just need to remove the caliper assembly, rotor, and axle nut. Is there anything else major I should be concerned with?

"Ratchet" is a noun, not a verb... it's like would you say "scissor that piece of paper?" no, you would say "cut" 😭
@ts-fam5134 жыл бұрын
Its called a rachet wrench. A wrench and rachet are completely different. Stick to the books geeko.
@aam774 жыл бұрын
@@ts-fam513 he's not a geek. He just knows English grammar unlike many. He was simply saying, "you say loosen the bolt, not ratchet it" regardless of what type of wrench you're using, a regular or a ratchet. Even gave a perfect example but now we have the perfect example of the thickness of a certain skull.
