Thank you Oscar for your very good instructions on how to do this. I tried the procedure at home and it worked out perfect. I had a bit more corrosion on my car (535d e61) so it took me 8 hours to finish. But I had a lot of fun doing it. And the satisfaction of doing it myself. Greetings Michael

If your not in a hurry, try your local junk yard lot, they have alot of BMW. you can get the bolts and other parts way cheaper like penny's on the dollar!! literally.

best bet is your local BMW dealer, they will cost around 10 for both if you need them asap

Hi Oscar. Does the suspension has to be removed in order to take the hub out ?
@oscars-autorepair32362 жыл бұрын
Hi hiltonw2 , basically the strut needs to be removed in order to get the 4 bolts from the back of the steering knuckle. Hope this helps.

Since you are the best by far I want to ask you about my 5 series the did a "free" inspección when a bought new tires and they say one bering is bad and the other side one shock or struck is leaking They say have to both sides because is better do it in pairs they pass me 2000k Do you think is necessary or just do one shock and 1 bering Thank you I won't believe those guy they try it to robe me after I spent 850$ in tires and FREE inspection my ASS Please let me know what to do Thank you in advance you are the best men

Hi flavin, I agree with the recommended advise , I do encourage you to change both shocks, chances are, if one shock started to leak the other will soon start to leak as well. And think about it this way......if you bought brand new pairs of shoes and you only walk with one new one one foot and an old shoe on the other foot I guarantee you will feel the difference as you walk, so that how you will feel your 5 series, especially when you turn on corners or bumps. I hope this advise helps you friend. Greetings from California, USA.

let me guess, this car probably only has about 25,000 miles on it....and you're already having to replace major parts like this....right? .about right for bmw's
@oscars-autorepair32365 жыл бұрын
Hi jac, the car has about 94,000 miles. Long over due for this wheel bearing replacement. But I am not the original owner so I don't know if the bearing were ever change.
