As usual you are doing the trunk opening kick the wrong way, at least for BMW. You are not supposed to swipe the foot, you are supposed to do a short kick towards the front of the car, standing behind the trunk in the middle of the car. Then it will work the first time reliably.

I only carry a 10yr daughter in the back. I4 has more than enough seating room for me. The hatchback rear cargo area is far more attractive to me than the Model 3 setup.

I would always go for the i4 as a family car due to the hatchback. That was the main reason I discarded immediately the Model 3 after testing it and realizing it was not a hatchback. In the i4 I can even fit a double deck stroller easily without removing the wheels!

Family is not only parents with a baby. It is also parents and two teenagers, e.g. 17 and 15. If those teenagers are tall it will be very uncomfortable for them to sit for hours at the back as the hight difference between the floor and the bench is small.

@@KDR816 I tried and have opinion (and so my daughter). I'm just saying that you can't judge if i4 is a good family car only by putting a stroller and a child seat. I4 is still a great car.

@@KDR816 That's a surprise. Have you sat there for more than 5 minutes? My daughter is 163 cm and after 20 min of sitting at the back of i4 she wanted to get back to eNiro or ID4. They are more comfortable for back passengers. Still me and my wife enjoyed I4 a lot. I drove it for 600 km.

@@KDR816 agree. Another issue reviewers bitterly complain is the fact that the BMW i4 was designed from the ground up to be ICE and EV. Reviewers hate the bump in the back. I rather have them share the platform with i5, 5 Series, i7 and new 7 series and keep the costs down. This way they are now flexible and can make more i4 and less 4 series on the same line.

Nice! Stroller and baby test on smaller cars would be cool. 500e 3+1 version or e208. With a roof rack they would be king!
@evenfromreide9847

We had a 207 when my oldest was born. No problem fitting our stroller and the cot in back. There's no problem fitting a backwards facing child seat as long as not both adults are above average height. Isn't the 208 slightly bigger then the 207? Now we have a Zoe. Fits two kids, one forward seated and one backwards seated. Stroller fits in the back flat on the floor with plenty of storage above. To be honest, we hardly ever used the cot part except if we were going on a walk locally. When we were out with the car doing shopping etc we just put the car seat on the stroller with the adapters. Don't buy a car to fit the stroller. Find a stroller that fits your car. When we bought ours the sales assistant took it out to our car to see if it fit in the back. To be honest we would probably not think about that at all being first time parents.

We tested Model 3 with our 2 boys (3+6). They loved the car for acceleration and fart noises but it was difficult to get the 3-year old in because he is still driving rear-facing in reboarder. I guess the i4 would be equally difficult but with current delivery times it would arrive late enough for our son to drive in a front facing seat. Unfortunately, Tesla is still no option for business leasing in larger company fleets in Germany. Usually +30 to 50% more expensive than legacy automakers.
@QuiCestQuiÇa
@QuiCestQuiÇa 2 жыл бұрын
In Belgium, most of business leasing don't work with Tesla anymore. There have been issues with deliveries and with the maintnance contract, but the main problem is that Tesla does not guarantee the price of the car until the day of the delivery. Example, you order your Model Y with a monthly "total cost ownership" of 850 euros, 3 months later they ask more and your TCO up to 930 or they cancel you order. And they continue to randomly increase the price until the delivery... (It happened to me).

Hey, I love your new Baby seat and stroller tests. Could you also add some luggage? Maybe one M and L size suitcase each?
@Grzeroli1
@Grzeroli1 2 жыл бұрын
Ok, maybe the carry cot is to extreme for such a test, because you usually need it only for roundabout 6 months. A baby stroller two seats and two suitcases would be a more „standard“ family setup.

Please read the manual, kicking the kick sensor is moving your foot forward and back NOT in a circle or to the side, and you cant stand too close since the car understands that you will get hit by the trunk opening…

It´s a fantastic car but really disappointing they didn´t include any option for a mini frunk in the RWD version. Probably because it would be a little "downgrad" for the i4 M50 in practicability and you wouldn´t want to make the top version worse than entry level 😕

Thats such a crap excuse, do you work for Wokeby? Seeing you promote it everywhere. Its like buying a car and be sent to aftermarket for A/C installation. And what about the owners of i4M50? This is just really poor design. Even Kia/Hyundai or Ford Mustang MachE can implement a factory frunk of some sort, and they are not premium brands by any means. EVs have a huge advantage of much smaller components, and engineers have opportunity to create crazy amounts of space at places, where its not possible on ICE cars. This is an absolute slack on their part, sending a customer of “premium” brand to aftermarket for basic feature is just silly 🙄

@@josefv-y8m that’s interesting. I wondered if the aftermarket would make something like and it turns out they do 👍 in the M50 version, there’s no way to put a frunk there but this RWD version allows it no problem. It’s not a big space but it’s better than nothing.
