I was hesitant to purchase an open box carseat but it came in excellent condition and saved $35. Box was damaged as stated before I purchased it, but the kzbin.infoUgkxIxQe7nPH74g_xtI5NgiE9-zpGNkfgovw car seat looks brand new and I don't think it was ever used. I will update of course if I have any issues with this carseat but I don't think I will. Also it is surprisingly lightweight, the handle feels secure unlike my previous EvenFlo that was gifted to us. Love it !

Baby Bjørn. The cybex rotator thing can be used with one hand, you don't have to press both green things one is sufficient. Also the thing where you pick up the baby seat with should stay upwards when driving, not behind the baby seat

If you read the bimmers owners manual, it states that you should never put car seats in the front. Thats why BMW never puts isofix in the front seat. The reason for turning off the airbag is for larger kids that are too big for child seats but seated on a cushion can be injured by the airbag since the are not long enough. There are clear statements about these issues but most parents dont read the manuals nor the road safety info most governments publish. This issue was even put into some hollywood movies such as the blind side for educational purposes.

Congrats on the new baby! And great to see that you're including child seat/stroller focused videos now. I only wish you had done this before I bought my Model Y, hehe (which I did thanks in great part to your many awesome reviews). I just have a few small suggestion/requests for you if you plan on doing these kinds of vids for different cars in the future, which might be useful to us parents. For example, you could look at how much space maybe one or two different industry standard baby seats (both forward and backwards facing) take up in the back seats, e.g. to see if it is comfortable for a parent travelling in the back with kids when there is more than 1 baby seat. Another is to see what kind of leg space is available for both the driver and front seat passenger when the baby seats are in place are fully extended/tilted. For example, I spent many hours trying to find which toddler seat (up to ca. 4-6 years or 115 cm) would take up the least amount of space behind the driver seat, because I am quite tall with long legs, and need to push the driver seat almost all the way back to drive comfortably (this way my poor wife can sit on the other side beside the baby and still have OK leg room instead of being squeezed behind me). There were no decent youtube videos that talked about this kind of thing so I had to spend hours looking at ADAC reviews (in the end, I found that the Nuna Prym apparently took up less space than other baby seats, scoring high on 'ergonomics'). It still isn't ideal, as I can't push my driver seat as back as I wish I could (for a not so small crossover, the Model Y has disappointingly little leg room for tall drivers!), but it works OK. This kind of problem/question is probably not something an Asian ninja like you has to deal with, but tall followers like myself would appreciate it a lot! Keep on truckin!

Great concept! I’m 193cm and had to get rid of my TM3 as it wasn’t enough leg room for me in any of the front seats when having a rear facing child seat in the back. Would be great if you could also test this in the future videos. E.g having a tall person (190+) testing if the leg room is sufficient. Thanx!

It’s interesting to see a physical button to disable the passenger airbag. Most vehicles (at least in North America) disable it automatically when the weight in the passenger seat drops below a certain threshold.
@e94mli2 жыл бұрын
I think this is because rear facing car seats are not allowed in the front in the US. When you use a rear facing car seat in the front you are supposed to use the key to disable the airbag to be sure it is off even if it also has a weight sensor.

New Volvos also have two hooks for child seats in the front leg compartment for non isofix child seats. Many cars have that setup for rear seats.
@jarsmoreira2 жыл бұрын
I would recommend to use the seat protection, that also protects the back cushion of the car's seat, mainly if you have the child facing rearwards, as it will protect the car seat from the child feet and any "object/food" projected into it.

I have a 1 year old kid. One big aspect is also the angle of the back seats. If the angle is too high, it’s not possible to bring the baby in a comfortable position when the seat is installed rear-facing, and its head will fall forwards when sleeping.

Well done and very useful review! 👍🏼 I do have a request: would it be possible to show, after loading the stroller in the trunk, how much space still available (including frunk) using a luggage or banana box? I actually have a second request: would it be possible to check if the car has shades on the back windows, if it has usable pockets (arm rest, under the seat, etc.) and check if the back seat moves back and forth to optimise trunk space? Hopefully are not too many requests… 😬 Cheers

You will say „shieeeeet” at every bump with cybex rotating plattform. I have two same seats from them, also with rotating option and the mechanism makes just noice… I didn’t know that earlier, otherwise I would take the not movable version. My model 3 took a double baby stroller for twins + both upper parts. I just had do remove rear wheels. The only disadvantage was that all the luggage landed inside of the car. For now we are travelling a lot with bicycles on the tow hook + double kid trailer in the trunk. No problemo.

The e-priam seems not so easy to fold. That the front wheels have to be guided against the metal bar or it doesn't fold entirely is something that some buggies have, but not all. When folding the frame of the buggy, often you can fit the pram/seat on top of and almost in between the frame when in the car. I find that to be the most space saving. I don think you need a seat protection like that. What gets most beating in the next 3 years is the back of the seat in front of the kid seat and the backrest of the seat it is on. Did you know the real leather iX version has different way to get to the ISOFIX hooks? There is a latch to pull up the leather backseat a bit to reveal them, instead of these plastic ports. I would rate the iX on a few more things when it concerns babies and young children. Disadvantages: The back doors are quite narrow. The window glass panes only come down half or so. The windows are high and not tall. The roof window can be made opaque but not very dark. The front passenger seat headrest cannot be removed and it is quite big so it blocks the view out from the back seat. Advantages: several, but I feel the need to point out the kick-opening of the trunk when you're loading a buggy. From my experience, it's really not nice to have two buggies to choose from. Just have a go-to buggy that you don't have to think about, because you'll be wanting to routinely throw it in and out.

Hi Bjorn, I can see you you have way too much equipment for your baby XD. You are right for long walk is the basket better for the baby. But why a dooma. That thing is really bad. You have the best of the best the Cybex sirona Z. If you take a look on the top site on the back, you have a grey lever. Pull is up and then bring the head part of the sirona down and you will see that the sirona will change into a basket. On top off that while you put the sirona in the car the are on booth side a of the sirona a grey lever. Pull the one out pointing to the door thats an extra side impact protection. Believe i have one. Look ate this video CYBEX Cloud Z i-Size Infant Car Seat Tutorial - KZbin at 0:40 min and at 3:37 min. Tha you will understand what i mean. Have fun being a father you wont regret it.
