Actually it was the wrong decision to swerve to the left, because on the right he had more space, but considering the moose moved to the right at the beginning, It would have been the right decision to go left if the animal continued to the right. So it is ok that he went to left, there is not much time to think about those decisions in situations like this.

@@michah1896 the radar is exclusively designed to detect very dense objects like cars. Radar would not be able to detect objects like cardboard cutouts, small plastic pylons, children, while adults or animals are very hit and miss and highly dependant on the crosssection they present. Pedestrian warning systems are usually lidar (which this car does not have), camera and/or ultrasonic based systems because of their much higher resolution and reliability with smaller and less denser objects .

Just to be clear. In Norway, if you hit a moose or similar, you are obligated to call the police. That is if you definitely hurt the animal, or think you might have hurt the animal. The police takes care of calling viltnemnda,or you can call them after talking to the police. The insurance company may check if you called the police if you decide to make a claim. Bjørn checked the vehicle for damage to assess if the animal was hurt. Conclusion was, probably not. I agree with his assessment. To be absolutely clear, Bjørn did what he was supposed to do.

Wow! I had an encounter with a gigantic wild boar just like that and popped a tire avoiding that beast last year!

Insane reaction time! I missed this in the livestream. As always you prioritize driving over the stream. Often telling chat the messages might not be read. I'm very glad you and the car were ok apart from minor cosmetic damages. I'm not sure how quick Moose will move on you. Here in Ohio, USA we have deer and they can quickly run or jump back into your path. Wo wo wo wow.

Rightly said.. auto high beam comes so late and with the led (and xenon) beams the light "ends" totally

Hope the car light engineers watch this and see how pathetic the lights are.

Imagine the difference if the auto light would have been working more sensitively / properly. You would have said after the street lights ended "oh, what a majestic moose on the road" and had time to pet it.
