BMW K1600GTL Modifying Radiator Shroud and Front Fender for Better Cooling
Today I modify the radiator shroud and front fender to improve airflow through the radiator
which in turn should help keep the engine from overheating.

The center piece you removed is a stone deflector. Although the fender extender is a great idea (I installed one made by Wunderlich) the stone deflector may still prevent radiator damage by stones with minimal impact on air flow. Dont neglect cleaning your radiator every year or two. Lots of bugs smash up there even with fender extender.

I did the fender extension on my Ducati multistrada. Used a Monster stock piece & plastic rivet tool from good ol' Harbor Freight. Why the designers leave em so short is beyond me!
