I ran the liqui moly 5W-30 BFE first in my 2015 428i. I burned over a quart of oil in 4500 miles….I used the LL 5W-30 next and only burned a quarter quart in 4800 miles. The BFE has less properties to protect the engine from high output performance. The LL is better for protecting the motor for high output settings because ir has a higher base number and higher high temperature shear viscosity index. The BFE is only good for the mix of high output and fuel efficient driving.

Engine Flush liquifies the sludge build up so it comes out thin. This is why you do nothing other than idle the vehicle when using it. Also, your next few oil changes might be darker than normal as the LM additive package is doing more cleaning. Great Video. Glad you got in touch with Jonathan.

@@MotoGearTV nope you got it wrong. I did my research more deeply. The orange one 5w-30 has the label of A3-B4 and Api SL . Api SL meanw cars made from 2001 to 2004. The purple one is A3-B4 Api SN is for newer cars from 2010 to 2020. A3-B4 just means high performance cars. Api cf for diesel engines

Thanks for the clarification but last time I checked the m2 is a high performance car and the one I used meets my requirements and functionality…Use what works for you and your vehicle 🤝🏾

I’ve been using LiquiMoly in all of my BMWs for 10+ years now. Plus, Jectron, Speedtec, oil flush & Mos2 in the last 2 yrs. It’s a common debate whether to use BMW, Castrol, or an alternative like LiquiMoly. I’m fine with either. The most important action is to change it regularly and long before the recommended 10k mile range 🤨
@MotoGearTV2 жыл бұрын
Yes agreed I would rather change it regularly and have that ease of mind than to have the unknown take place👍🏾

Thanks much for this video! About to DIY my M235i (just bought it last month). What adapters are you using for your jack stands (rear)? Some use hockey pucks. Also... did you lift the rear just to have additional space for videoing?
@MotoGearTV2 жыл бұрын
Glad you found the video helpful! For the rear, we used rubber jack stand pads from harbor freight. Our driveway has a slight incline, so we wanted the car to be more level, which also made it easier to film underneath.

Brother! nice channel , just got a M2, quick question . there some sluggish acceleration and delay, what's the cause? thank you!

Reset your M2's adaptive transmission: 1. Turn car on not engine just so all components in the car are on. 2. Press and HOLD gas pedal for 30 seconds. WITHOUT RELEASING THE GAS PEDAL, push the START Button to turn car off. 3. Release gas pedal. 4. Wait full 2 minutes. 5. Start car. You're welcome.

You are mistaken. You can use both oils. The new BMW standard was designed due to European laws that require stricter fuel economy and emission standards. The new standard has nothing to do with performance. Even FCP Euro states that the BMW standard is not the best for its own engines. The best oil is for N55 is 5W-40, according to FCP

Appreciate the feedback, as I mentioned in detail in the video, the decision to use this was based on my personal preference and research, you can use whichever oil meets your needs or engine requirements and going with a higher oil weight will depend on a number of factors but at least for my needs the oil I choose was the best option
@chrisbradley3224 Жыл бұрын
The FE is a slightly worse oil. This engine was designed for non-FE oils and back-specified to help BMW meet cafe specs. It won’t be harmful but it’s not beneficial.

If your oil changes are done regularly you wont need to do a flush. In the case of an M engine 4-5k miles is rule of thumb.

@@MotoGearTV can you explain the difference because I think your getting confused with the release of the euro 6 engines which had to comply with stricter emissions which resulted in a change in oil .

Can i use oil with LL-04?
@hetanosgago9508 Жыл бұрын
If you are in North America you can use LLO4 in diesel engines only. But in Europe they use LL04 in gasoline engines, because their gas is different.
