On the trunk door, I bet it's a place to store a Warning triangle. I had it stored this way on several of my cars

That’s what I am thinking too. But I don’t see them in newer cars anymore so I am not sure if M2s had them.

@@AccentOnCars The triangle is mandatory in Europe like the emergency trunk release in the US which we don't have in Europe.

@@AccentOnCars 100%. They manufactured same trunk liners for all cars and just don't add the triangles for the US cars.
