good comparison between a RWD, AWD and FWD car. All 3 cars are awesome cars in my eyes. Surprised that the Opc beat the others around the track.. for the underdog FWD to beat a Scooby and bmw around a track goes to show Opel really did a great job with the new OPC.

AcrosBlio fwd or rwd doesnt matter in race track. opel developed watts link in rear axle which i also have in my astra 1.4 turbo, which makes the car as stable as fuck so in corners you just have fun accelerating like a train on rails. also that makes the car turn faster than a similar hatch.

A LOT of people ignore or look-down upon Opel, primarily for it's past of making not so good cars. It's a shame really, because considering the Astra J OPC had the least Horsepower and the fact it's FWD, it was still able to keep up with the others! I will admit, I'm a huge Vauxhall/Opel/Holden fan, but I don't say "Opel is better because blah blah blah", I respect others choice in manufacturer or car. Usually at meets, Opel is in the shadows... until they keep up with cars twice the price! Obviously Opel won't slap the arse of a BMW or an Audi etc... but it'll keep them on their toes ;) #VXRacing

Great video, nice to see someone testing 3 comparable cars with different drivetrains. I own the Opel at present (vauxhall here 😊) and it is awesome to drive. Handling is phenomenal with that front diff. Looking to change now to either the M235i or Golf R, only considering the Golf because it's a frikkin steal on lease at the moment. Would welcome anyone else's comments / opinions / abuse...

Take the M235i it is more expensive than the golf R but its a much better car, and performance wise its faster, plus its a BMW enough said

Why do you suppose Bimmer keeps sending out M235i press cars without the M Differential (which is the optional LSD)? Seems silly. Yes, it's an added-cost option (USD$3000), but it's an option that any enthusiast should opt for.

eternyman You can't order it directly built into the car. You have to buy the car, then buy the LSD and then have to pay for the installation of it. I think it's about 3k $ extra all in all.

Why would anyone buy an Opel Astra OPC when a Renault Megane 250/265/275 is available? Astra looks aren't unique. It's a copy of the Renault but not as good looking, it doesn't drive as well either.

+Waaromniet Yeah i agree, the vast majority of people and car reviewers say that the Astra VXR is the best looking hot hatch ever made plus it's not far behind the Megane in terms of handling. Also the interior cabin and dashboard gadgets in the Megane are as basic as fuck compared to the VXR especially with the Aero and leather pack. I picked one up a few weeks ago Arden Blue with all of the above, 17k miles, mint condition for just over £15k, worth every penny. Only downsides for me are changing from 1st to 2nd gear can sometimes slip and rear window visibility is poor so parking sensors a must. Stunning car.

Waaromniet The RS is hands down a better sports car mechanically than the Astra. No doubt about it whatsoever! Interior and exterior looks? that's personal opinion. no point arguing about that. If you want a driver's car you'd get a Megane.
