I did it in the year 1989 with a robot, I think 10 kg handling force. The same thing but I used the robot to turn around the spinning motor and the BMW M20-head was fixed. It was of a BMW 323i engine. I put in bigger valves, 42mm from a 325i instead of the standard 40mm. It's been a long, long time ago.

How does a CNC. Digitizing compare to a test program using flow balls

according to the head number, it is B30. why port head B30 which has smaller channels in series than B35 ??

Respect for the job that you’ve done. I know it’s a lot to ask, but I would still like to ask if you would be up to share a 3d model of mashing so I could do the same job on my head. I’m of course ready to generously contribute.:)

Hello..can the 1984 733i 3.2 cam be swapped with the 3.5 same type engine??I know it has more lift and stuff but will the valve/piston clearance be ok..??

Is it right that you made notches on the channel, is it not better that everything is smooth?
@skylinefever
@skylinefever 5 жыл бұрын
Gasoline tends to condense on smooth intake ports, that is why having some kind of texture is important. However, if this was a GDI or diesel engine, I'm not sure if having a textured intake port did any good or not.
@arni291
@arni291 5 жыл бұрын
Why do you think golf balls are textured? To fly further. Air sticks to smooth surfaces, whereas dimples on surface create little turbulences that dont let air stick to it. Technically dirty car should be faster than the clean car, because it moves better thru the air.

at the end of the day it's not the Finish it's the actual Port shape and lack of restrictions there in no more no less you can do radius valve seats multi angle valve job shorten the guides all the little Band-Aids of the trade but at the end of the day it's Port shape PERIOD!!

What's the finish on the exhaust port for?
@richardcollins7950
@richardcollins7950 6 жыл бұрын
looks like they are using some type of golf ball tech to increase air flow, i don't see how it applies. sure it does some how.. doesn't look cheap. at this point get a 4v motor..

Intake channel. The fuel does not form droplets on walls when such a design or at least less drops... the air fuel mixture remains gaseous in the cylinder

What Niko said... plus the finish helps with velocity and turbulence through the intake ports.

Oh please just another video with zero narration this is the main reason you only have 3000 subscribers and the ones you do have don't even know what they're looking at. The whole polishing thing is idiotic at best. Any of the smartest people in the industry will tell you anything more than 80 grit scratch on an inlet port you're doing it only for artistic sake and I'm fully aware of what the market demands but then the market also likes cat vids& zombies and they serve no useful purpose either. Anytime Fuel is asked to go turn around. a corner it wants to keep going straight instead it falls out of suspension puddles on the port wall because there's not enough laminar flow at the wall to keep the fuel in suspension . A really accurate flow bench will give you a couple of CFM numbers with a polished port but when you dyno such port in comparison u leave power on the table. My testing in the 80's showed consistent gains of +1.5-2.0 gains by leave ing the port in a 80-100 finish. spread out over 8 cylinders that's 15 16 horsepower which is nothing to sneeze at. You can contact dr. David vizard for more information on this. in the eighties we also did the whole dimpling thing naturally thinking that if it worked on a golf ball it would work in a cylinder port will the simple answer to that is you will never find dimples on an airplane wing or a self-propelled bicycle fairing. It's all Elementary my dear Watson

U will never see dimples on airplane wing as it would produce too much distortion. I guess that is why they are made - to make a very turbulent flow
@davidparker9676

@@Domnaek Just another know-nothing lame ass fanboy. Buck Ding is dispensing truth you don't want to hear. The CNC port is only as good as its program. I'm not impressed. I can do a better job by hand and for a fraction of the cost. The dimpling on the roof of the port is worthless and the big hemi-chamber is outdated technology that does not make better power. The stock combustion chamber was a better design. Oops!
