This is probably the best example of expert driving on the Nurburgring I have ever seen, this driver is absolutely professional, perfect lap. I doubt anybody could have done a cleaner, faster lap around the Nurburgring. Well done driver, very well done indeed.

I've never seen anybody use so much of the track. I felt like it was maybe the camera angle but you regularly heard the rumble strip/berms as he went over them. He's a very brave driver, I would shat myself at those lines at that speed.

+Jannik Eisenmann in the case of the Ring, it's such a long and unique track you can't just compare the 'cars' laptimes; you also gotta take into account who sets the laptime with any particular car. Drivers vary for each each car and so do the track conditions. There's also the reservation problem. Since the Nurburgring is a 'public' road-course, most manufacturers only get private access ti the track for a pretty short time period, for example, Dodge only had 30 minutes to set up their equipment and run a lap in their Viper ACR model. i'd imagine Ford GT was driven by a journalist (not a pro) and so was Murcielogo or MP4-12c. Think about it, how can the 12c (being 4 seconds faster on the Top Gear track) run the same time to the 458 which has even less power. When it comes to the Ring, it's all about 'Who sets the lap time' than 'what car sets the lap time'. That's why i can only take seriously the laptimes that have an on-board proof video. And even with a video, you still wouldn't be able to figure out if the car is a legit road legal or if the company is cheating or not (like with the GT-R NISMO who didn't set the lap time with a pro-production car developed only for the Ring and claimed that it was a showroom stock GT-R NISMO)

Arya Ahmadi I get your point, but i believe me, four seconds are (if it's not close to seven minutes or less) not that much on 20.83 kilometres, and regarding the mp4-12c vs the 458 i have to say that power really isn't everything! it is also depends on torque, less/more over/understeer, driveability, rwd/awd/4wd, downforce, weight, power to weigh-ratio.. (the list goes on..) and i did not want to bash the ford gt, i really do like this car! i just want to show how fast everything progresses, i mean as far as i know, the new 991 911 carrera s (or another 991 "standard" model) is already faster on the ring than the 997 gt3 rs! ..just like it was unimaginable, that a roadcar does the ring in under seven minutes and well... 918, aventador lp 750-4 sv...

The lap time of 7:28 for both cars was set by a German car magazine Sport Auto in 2013 (they didn't say who the driver was, but I presume it was Horst von Saurma, the chief editor of Sport Auto). Now, I consider Horst von Saurma to be the authority of Nurburgring, since he did set a lot of the the official lap times, so if he was the one who set the 7:28 for both the 458 and the MP4-12C, I think no one has the right to complain about the driver.

Look at those beautiful lines he's taking into the corners, professional...I think at one point he was going (258 km/h) which equals: (160.314 mph). Lets not forget the gentleman was going that fast mostly around winding corners; on a straight track, he would go much faster. I believe that cars top speed is about: (304 km/h) which is about: (188.897 km/h).

I bought my first M just last weekend, I completely love it to bits. The noise, the leather, the quality and the noise. More importantly the noise. It's an E92 so maybe the noise is a bit more real but I don't mind the EU (oops) tax.

I think the noise is due to how stiff the chassis is. Some BMW cars like the 4-series grancoupe would look amazing as an M but I heard it couldn't get the M treatment because the chassis wasn't strong enough.
