as an ex BMW Technician from Europe,i feel that you removed a lot of unnecesarry things.I don't know if you did that to rank up the cost or if you simply didn't know there is a easy-er route.We don t remove the rail,we remove the diesel pipes,we don;t remove the injectors wiring,we simply put it aside.We don't remove the vacuum line,or all the wiring around it.

I found my oil pan wet the other day when I changed my oil. I hope this is not what’s going on but if it is I will use you video for sure. While I’m in there I will clean the intake ports being that I’ll be able to see the camshaft lobes in the “up” position indicating the valves are closed when I manually rotate the crankshaft. Thanks for being awesome! I’ve been surfing your online parts catalog too, bought a few things the other day, I’ll be buying more 👍

@daholyvagabond
@daholyvagabond 7 ай бұрын
Turbo pressure leaks pass the gasket into the crankcase. Or at least that’s the way it was explained to me. The engine is designed to be compact so a lot of systems are right next to each other. Like the injectors going through the valve covers

How does a leaking cam cover gasket allow boost pressure into the crank case? I think you're confusing it with the crankcase breather.
@Abigor321

There's a crankcase vent/diaphragm built into the valve cover. If it or the corresponding gaskets fail, it will absolutely cause excessive crankcase pressure.

Great video - at roughly what mileage and age will this typically be required. My 335d has almost 200,000 km on it (120,000 miles) and is consuming more oil than it used to - although not nearly as bad as a quart every 600 miles.
@TuneMyEuro
@TuneMyEuro 4 жыл бұрын
It varies greatly, possibly needing replacement sooner in warm Southern areas, mileage inconsistent, seen as early as 110,000 miles in the South on a high performance 2011 X5 35d. Changing your oil brand may resolve oil consumption, we found Rotella T6 was consumed much faster than Liquamolly

I just did this. My car doesn't start anymore. Tried 5x. Primed fuel pump 3 minutes with diagnostic didn't help. It shows 4b90 no rail pressure at start and it stays on 7bar not rising. Requested is 300 bars. I tried resetting and syncing DDE CAS but that returned "not free start value available"... While I was doing this, I didn't clean injector holes, so could some residue fall into pistons? I was also vacuuming injectors with all suction power of vacuum cleaner and also fuel lines to avoid dirt. not sure what's wrong maybe some small part or valve in injector sized ??

@@TuneMyEuro By the way repair kit worked perfectly. So, figured out, for some reason, bleeding system didn't help till I didn't release the bolt on hpfp, no diesel was coming to the rail, probably it catched air. As soon as I know common rail should not have this problems. So I start it after repeated bleeding, now I faced another problems...😅 Using a Launch, got 46d7 which is compressor actuator plate, 452a - dpf and swirl flaps motor. None of them was showing before. All connectors are in place. So I watched another video about vacuum system and I checked it today. All valves hold the vacuum except one in a back that goes to the turbo actuator, so will have to change it. Bad part fkin BMW AG closed the newtis.info and now I will have hard time finding the part.
