I just picked up a 335d and started giving me issues right after I got it from the dealer. Loses power and check engine lights, it’s nice to see someone working on the M57 so we can be able to work on ours. Good job just subbed

Thank you for this vid and the recently purchase vacuum parts from your website. 👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I changed my 2013 X5 35d (146,000 Mi) vacuum lines today, cleaned some of the CBU out of the intake manifold, cleaned my EGR, and put it back together nice and carefully. I don’t see much CBU in the motor intake ports, a little crust at the rim, down deep I see bare aluminum with a diesel glaze. I bought a little 5mm fiber optic scope camera that connects via WiFi’s to my iPhone, I’ll check the valves next time I’m in there. 🤸‍♂️ saved $1,200 from the dealer today 🤸‍♀️

Thank you so much for this video. I noticed the fresh blood on your hands. I just finished changing my vacuum parts and I have the identical cuts as you did 4 years ago. I have to say this is not a user friendly design. If you aren't deleted you have have 3 wiring harnesses clipped on and two pressure sensors attached to the box. Plus the two solenoids attached to the box. Was enough trouble to get in here I just replaced both valves everything including my marginal turbo actuator that would leak out the vacuum on test slowly over 3 minutes.

This for the most part is right (distribution block) but other wise it is for a deleted car learned that quickly while working but otherwise very informative!

@@andrewtravers7964 120k miles and unknown whether it was ever done - I've had codes related to EGR but not sure if that's specifically related to carbon build up. After taking off the intake I have about 5x as much build up as the worst cylinder shown in this video...

why did you leave the last part of the original hose connected to the metal changeover actuator?

The metal nipple coming off the actuator has broken off twice when I have tried to remove 100% of the original vacuum line. Leaving it prevents all chances of breaking the nipple off

The T connection used should ahve had the shortest pipe going to the middle then it Sid’s flat and avoids unnecessary strain and don’t reuse old hoses. Aside from that it was excellent. Cheers

Thanx for the awesome video, to the replace this Vacuum Solenoid on the M57 E70 X5, do I have to remove the Intake manifold? COuld this be the lack of boost in the car as I replaced the pressure converter and the MAP Sensor no luck, All hoses seem ok! Thanx in advance

Great video. For those of us tackling the M57 (and for that matter BMW) for the first time, would you consider doing a video on how to remove all the electrical connectors around the vacuum assembly? You sure make it look easy: 5 bolts and it's out. Your tip on the pressure convertor electrical connections in this video was very helpful, but there are a lot of other difficult (again, first time) electrical connectors to remove. I'm replacing the vacuum control valve, behind and underneath this assembly. I've spent way too much time troubleshooting how to get connectors seperated and out of the way.

Super frustrating I know. A good pick set has helped me but I hate to see them all scratched up if I'm exploring if you know what I mean. The next tech that gets in there will see that and know its been hacked at. I don't want that on this ride. My third M57

I Hole sawed thru plastic with carpet glued to the back and pulled the release. I kept the circle and have it velcroed if it ever happens again haha doesnt look horrible easy solution

Hey I am currently doing this, but there is a pressure converter under the intake manifold that is bolted to the glow plug controller. One line of it takes input from the main vacuum line but the other line goes over the valve cover and down the side in front of the turbos but i cant see what its connected to exactly. Some models show this as a egr changeover valve but im not sure on mine its for that. 2011 e70 X35d. It looks like the input for this is capped off in your video maybe

My 35d feels sluggish low rpm, but I can see the actuator move when the engine has started and when it's turned off. I've replaced most of vac lines. Is it possible that one of the pressure convertors are bad despite the actuator moving?

Hello, The red line, what kind of device in front do you connect the red hose to. On my car hose from TCV goes to the waste gate which control the actuator. Correct? My car BMW F11 525D xdrive, do you know if my vacuum hoses are the same hoses on your car

Is there somewhere we can look at sensor connections near the vacuum lines? I think with EGR delete not all sensors/connectors are needed to be connected, I am going to assume that's the case, but if anyone sees this that knows for sure or has diagrams please reply!

One Question, when doing valve cover gasket , do I need to just cut and splice vacuum lines to this ? Or will it just be moved over with lines connected?

There’s like 6 or 7 other sensors that need to be disconnected first before you start cutting the vacuum lines. It’s not simple to get out.

@dinhvanpham8102 Жыл бұрын
Step 1 plugging the vacuum controller, is it the same device called turbo control valve? The device which control the actuator? Step 2 connect the red hose to the side connector on actuator. On my BMW the red hose connects to the waste gate. Step 3 The bottom connects to vacuum pump. You have two solenoids, I have a BMW F11 525D Twin turbo, do I have two Solenoids. If I have two solenoids, i have to check both Solenoids. Maybe It has faults because since The workshop replaced the turbocharger I have got error 29A400 in 6 months. You jump over step 10. Step 11 You Connect supply solenoid to connections on the right side. The red hose goes to, what do you call the silver device in front? On my car the red hose goes to waste gate from the TCV. The bottom of TCV goes to vacuum T-connector. Correct? I have to do all the vacuum hoses by myself. I appreciate very much if you can help me on the way. Thank you in advance for the best video on vacuum hoses. :-))
