Belt + tensioner set was something around 80euros. It came in SKF package and had INA cast markings. Tensioner set by BMW is made by SKF/INA so it's the real deal.

Great expert tip! Thanks Dr. Dean. I just changed out my belt, all pulleys & tensioner on my N54 around 3000 mi ago. Now I'm going to have to go back and make sure the tensioner came with that backing plate: 😬

Dean!! I need help. N52 Crank pulley (harmonic balancer) had damaged bushing. I can only find parts for the auto gearbox or from the n53 engine. Are the crank pulleys for N52 n53 n54 interchangeable. The dimensions are very similar. I took apart an N52 one and it had the part number ending 628 which I thought was from N53.

my n53b30 was making a terrible rumble at around 600-750 rpms, was very bad when pulling off or moving slowly, turns out it was my belt tensioner! thing was shaking like crazy!

Funny you talk about that! I literally just got my hydraulic press yesterday and setting it up 😂 and I’m about to do just that even the control arms I’m poly bushing this whole car I have them all here was waiting on my press.

It went public last month but unfortauntely I’m trading under a Porsche name so I’m flooded with Porsches at present 😅 I have a 986 boxster s here I’m doing BMW I try to keep to just KZbin once this E60 is done I have back list of Porsches coming to use the lift from people near me and I’m trying to finish my workshop as we are fitting the new tyre machine and wheel balancing machine while fixing this black E60 😅

Yeo exact same bmw have never changed the design. Only the bolt itself some may be a Torx

Do these engine have that crankcase valve that catches fire. I seen one 1 series near me caught on fire. I was in disbelief. LOL.

Not this one the black one does that. That is why they are left unplugged in my case on all of them

@@BMWDoctor So the BMW 130 I silver top don't have it. My next door neighbor beamer went into flames. I think they have the 120 i. He parked it well away from their house and it burst. WOW!!
