After disassembling the BMW R60/5 into sub-assemblies, I've now got my hands onto the swingarm and final drive. In this video I will share with you the disassembly process of this rear-end and what kind of tools you will need. Besides some metric wrenches and allen keys, I had to make a custom tool just to remove a gear! No worries, a little bit of stock metal and I've made myself what I need.
This whole assembly has many moving parts, seals, and a couple gaskets. I will have to see what I will be able to repair and what I will have to replace. Until then, I have some time to clean everything up and work on some other sub-assemblies.
Stay Tuned for the assembly video!
