I love my 2019 Stelvio. It drives great, its comfortable and quick. I have taken several road trips in it, most notably, on some curving roads in rural Southern Arizona. Handling was impeccable and fun. My ownership experience has been fun and trouble free.

I bought my Stelvio new in 2020. It now has just shy of 80,000 miles on it. Hands down THE BEST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED! Which is saying a lot because I’ve owned well over 30 cars. Mostly BMWs and Porsche but there have been Audis, Volkswagens, and others. Including that nearly half a decade I spent sprung on all things Lexus. Me and my Stelvio have traversed the country from coast to coast TWICE!! It has NEVER missed a beat. It’s beautiful. Handles amazing!! Is comfortable and extremely durable. I also own a Giulia Q which has been equally amazing. God willing I will always have a Stelvio in my driveway. If this car is even 3/4 as nice it’ll be an absolute must buy.

I have the 160hp MHEV Tonale.Loving it.Went for the Ti trim with 18 inch wheels as have the basic suspension setup which works great especially on smaller back country roads here.18 inch wheels definitely help with providing good ride comfort.

I totally agree with you in the height of the ground. I love the look but something seemed a little off and I think it does sit a little high. I'm a Mopar guy but would pick the Tonale over the Hornet.

I tested a Tonale, the 285 BHP PHEV version, a very nice car, Good job Alfa! I would also like to drive the 2.0 265 BHP version. I could say that the Dodge Hornet looks like an Alfa Tonele. :)

I'm not into "cute ute's" but from what I've read, this handles like an Alfa Romeo is supposed to and that is really the only part I personally care about. There are Giulias and Stelvios out there; the Tonale must stay true to the brand.

Mhm...About the joke "italian car owned by americans", the speaker should know that years ago the italian Fiat Group took the control of Chrysler Group (and not the opposite) creating FCA, then the merger with the french PSA led to the born of Stellantis Group whose shares are majority owned by the italian Agnelli family, founder of FIAT. Anyway, all Alfas are completely designed and produced in Italy, so yes...Tonale, as well as all other Alfas, is an italian car 😉

I've seen this several times & I find the front & rear lights so beautiful. I wish the 2023 Giulia had those front & reer lights because those front lights make the car look more aggressive while the rear lights give it that elegant look. Alfa did a half ass refresh with the 2023 Giulia & Stelvio. The side profile I'm not so fan of. It looks a bit like the dodge & feels high like you mentioned with the fenders & wheels distance looking too big & making the car look less sporty. That point you mentioned is what I saw as well when I saw this car irl & it really annoyed the hell out of me. But the good thing is it can be lowered a bit so that'll make it proportionally look better. Like with the Grecale I'd buy this 2nd hand & let someone else take the hit. But a really beautiful car nonetheless. Oddly enough this is the only Alfa Romeo I find beautiful in dark colours like dark grey or blue (rather than red) which makes those aggressive front lights stand out. It's a head turner like the Grecale. The Italians really know what they're doing in terms of design

I completely agree about the wheel gap. My Stelvio had the same issue, but I took care of it. A sporty car/suv shouldn't come like that. If I want to get off road, I wouldn't buy an Alfa.

🤣 the hornet is a rebadged and faced version of this car. Same chassis. Same car with a different front end wheels and interior for more money I’m sure. Stilantis is Alfa platforms are interchanged. It’s not the first vehicle either the jeep compass is another one. For an suv though I think it looks pretty decent but it wouldn’t be on my top 5 list to buy. And I don’t enjoy giving our dollar to Italy so later on I have to defend American cars because they are cheap and without new tech. Good video sam, thank you! Good information 👍

I've driven Alfas exclusively for the past 20+ years and currently drive a '22 Guilia. Not had any serious problems in that time. In a recent 2023 WhatCar survey on owning cars 6-20 years old - Alfa came No 12 in the rankings but just about every brand above them was either Japanese or Korean but they beat BMW, Mercedes, Ford and Volvo. Things change you know...and the Alfa Sud was a long time ago... I ran my 3 litre 166 for 12 years, covering 130K miles, including a trip to Milan going up and over the Alps. Apart from normal wear & tear, I just had a radiator leak and needed a battery change at the 10 year point. I loved that car then and I love my Guilia now. Never loved my company BMW and it's gearbox wasn't reliable that's for sure. I never looked back at it in the car park either....🙂

One problem is the cost, a loaded Tonale PHEV costs about $6k USD more than a loaded BMW X1. To get the same price I would have to get a version of the Tonale without some of the bells and whistles like the surround camera and high performance tires. I wonder about the durability of the 1.3 liter engine with camless intake valve train, but I notice the drivetrain does have a six year warranty.

Geez You need to update your knowledge. I have 3rd Alfa now, didn't have any problems with them and many others didn't too. I say that they are reliable as their competitors if not better, but I stay with that it is the same level since statisticly there must be a few with "something go wrong", they are still made by people not Gods. About driving - I wanted to change the brand twice - nothing has come even close - of course it is just only my experience - it is a good car for me, there is a lot to choose, so everybody can find something.

they’re actually quite reliable, well mostly the 2.0l in the regular models. the QV’s are alright but it’s a high performance car, what do you expect. the 2020+ giulias and stelvios are a huge improvement compared to the 2017-2019. we got a 2020 giulia ti sport carbon with 50k miles and not one issue and it’s our daily driver

@@orwaw1001 i have been driving it for 2 years lol fam member had to gave it back before 3 year lease was up, no one could take it anymore. The battery had to be replaced in the first 3 months, then the sunroof stopped working. The electronic braking system was so bad. The drive was so sluggish and dull, i really felt unsafe in that car

Nightmare? I don't think BMW is losing any sleep. This Alfa is overpriced for its size. It's almost priced into X3 and Q5 territory. It's priced similarly to the larger Acura RDX and Genesis GV70.
