this is just the disassembly before scrapping it to show what's involved and what they look like inside. There's now a second video posted with a similar name except "Diagnosis" in the title to analyze some of the problems noted on the inside and possibilities for why it failed.

Hello i have a question can i put a ninja h2r engine in a bmw s1000rr?
@NoLimitsNoRegrets
@NoLimitsNoRegrets 3 жыл бұрын
@@tablokozhin1973 i would be absolutely shocked if any other manufacturer's engine would fit in that frame. each bike these days is so highly engineered and attachment points in the frame have to go exactly into those points in the engine. those points can't be modified much either as there is too much going on around them. even if you could do it, it would be a bad idea as you'd be going through too many headaches and devalue what you had in the process.

thanks, just nuts and bolts, right? when i built the engine myself, that was stressful trying to get everything perfect knowing my life was riding on it, but disassembling for this video was no risk. the guy that built it after me fcked it up so bad that it was a boat anchor already, and i was just trying to learn more in the process.

Thanks for video ! I have a question... when reassembling the throttle body, how can it be aligned? Vacuum gauge or just PC? Thank you
@NoLimitsNoRegrets

I haven't personally gotten into detail of disassembly of the throttle bodies, but when i put the bike back together, pretty sure there is a function on the gs911 for throttle body calibration if i remember correctly.

the diagnosis video is kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioC4pJqcgceDgpY but looks like top end starved for oil and burned everything up. pistons were super sloppy and cylinders scored too.

Hey hello I have a 2014 BMWS 1000 it has 0 compression in one cylinder and a 100% loss of compression and cylinder for do you might know what the issue is it has leak through exhaust valve and intake
@NoLimitsNoRegrets

sorry, thought i answered this earlier, but maybe not. you'll just have to bite the bullet and start taking it apart to checkit out, but only way i see a cylinder leaking is leaking piston rings or the valves

Hey, sorry i just now saw this comment as it was held?? At any rate, much appreciated. This is actually the 2010 engine, but because it's ruined, the bike now has a 2018 engine in it that's awesome and turning 197 hp at the wheel! There is another video after this with the diagnosis at kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioC4pJqcgceDgpY There are also a couple on 10 years of modification part 1 and 2 with part 3 coming soon. enjoy!

Mine is 2018 but singel R model. Anyway the hole engine look the same, the cover not opened after I realese the all screw as u did. I sow you use a rubber hammer, how hard you knocked on it? It seems like it's glued or something..
@NoLimitsNoRegrets
@NoLimitsNoRegrets 2 жыл бұрын
@@menachemhasin that's where the subjectivity of wrenching happens. If you've made absolutely sure all the screws are loose, then all that's holding it together is the gasket sealant. Just be really, really sure all the bolts are removed. Then, yes, a rubber hammer will help get it apart. What i do is work around the engine in different places to keep disassembly even. i.e. don't just bang on one corner, work your way around to keep things even. ideally, you want to put impact upward in the direction you're trying to pull it apart, not hit it sideways if you can avoid it. this can be a challenge finding places to pound with the hammer, but keep the motion upward. do NOT try to pry it apart. the idiot that screwed mine up did that and screwed up a corner edge with the prybar. if you do that, you might have problems getting a solid seal later when you reassemble it.

The timing chain alignment datums are "VERY IMPORTANT" and must be set to the fitters manual instructions so that the ECU CPU gets the right signals . My mate is a motorcycle mech and my late Uncle Patrick said it is crucial on cars as well . He was a racing tech for Holden in Australia . I learnt a lot from him . He restored vintage cars too .

Seized at 245000 miles? I feel it is quite reliable engine. I heard 10-15 S1000RR engine has huge defect in connecting road and metal bearing.
@NoLimitsNoRegrets
@NoLimitsNoRegrets 3 жыл бұрын
oh no, it seized at 245.0 miles. this was not the stock engine, which is really good. this was a rebuild by a shop that has no business touching wrenches based on how awful my bike was abused. hadn't heard about the rod/bearing issue? agree though, in general these are a great engine especially considering how much power is pushing out of 1.0 liters.

@@NoLimitsNoRegrets When I was younger , there were COWBOY mechanics in the trade including automotive fitter machinists sadly . My mate that looks after my Yamaha FZR 250 3LN1 for me says that self indictment or promotion should be treated with great caution . Luckily I can put my little lady in his hand as he treats her the way that he treats his own S1000R 2017 edition , with love and respect . We have private track days he organises for my close friends twice a year . He spends a good amount of time preparing for these sessions . My FZR has never missed a beat thanks to him and his nephew and may put some BMW'S to shame . I learnt on a black and red 2KR pure sports in 1990 .
