Hi mate, nice helpful video. But I want to ask, have you got video with fuel returning pipe replacement? How to disconnect all pipes? Thank you Jozef

I believe the VANOS high pressure oil line is installed backwards. The heat shielding on the original one was on the bottom to protect the line from heat from the exhaust manifolds. On the aftermarket oil line, I am assuming the black heat shield portion of the line should be on the bottom where the accumulator is located. The aftermarket oil lines typically come with two rubber P clamps, one that holds the line to the timing cover and one that holds the line on the upper left VANOS mounting bolt. The updated original BMW VANOS oil line now comes with the two mounting points.

Probably you are right, but I like how it looks like that. It is stainless steel, so I doubt it will fail so easy from the heat

Hi Guys. I discovered this chanel for a short while. I was looking for some tutorials for a M57 engine. I like how you work and I want to congrat you for your great job. It is nice to see people that they still pay attention to these old cars. Also I wanted to ask you for an advice. I have a e60 m57 2.5D and it has almost 300k km. I was thinking at the next oil change to put 5w40 instead of 5w30. What is your opinion? It is time for me to do this change or keep going with 5w30? The engine was never opened, it has not oil consumtion and it is not smoking. It has only a turbo leek and I belive it is a gasket because it make like this for 2 years. Have a nice day !!!
