Thanks brother, I figured my 2006 BMW 325i was bad fluid. I heard a whine when steering left/right and when just idling. Took it to Pep Boys and they told me it wasn’t a guaranteed fix but I knew it was bad fluid. They flushed the power steering fluid and BAM!!!! Whine is gone! Fluid was brown and horrible. Now, I’m monitoring the pump/fluid. But so far, really really smooth and quiet.
@AlbanianFix4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was shocked too when the noise completely disappeared. I figured maybe a little bit of pump noise would be still there but no completely gone! Glad it worked out for you as well!

what is the cause of the noise at 5:15 , when the steering wheel is a full lock and grinds
@AlbanianFix3 жыл бұрын
That’s normal, it’s because the pinion is pushing hard against the rack but because the pathway is at its end and there is no room for the the fluid to push through which then creates pressure and then the pump works harder and therefore the noise. I always avoid to fully lock the steering wheel and if I have to make a U-Turn, I always back off a quarter or half a rotation from the lock position.

Then sound became little less noisy. BUT! There are still stay awful sound when I turning steering wheel. Is that is normal?
@AlbanianFix2 жыл бұрын
You said you drained fluid and then refilled 700ml. Why? I showed in the video to fill WHILE it’s draining. That way there are no air pockets introduced into the system which is very important. So, I believe you have air in the system which makes the pump work harder and give out that noise.
