BMW X5 is leaking 😫 - Lets Talk Cars

My X5 with a panroof had that issue. Issue with gutters. Fixed it myself in about 5 minutes.

Good luck getting the leak fixed, i had a brand new 2022 X3 30e that spent nearly 6 months in the dealership due to a leaking panoramic roof that they couldnt fix. After 18 months of ownership, and having been 'fixed' several times the roof continued to leak. In the end I part-exchanged it for a Merc. I lost complete faith in BMW, there's clearly a design fault with the panoramic roof, the forums have a fair few complaints about this. The root cause appears to be caused by the rubber seals shrinking and poor drainage channel design.

Does the X5 have an opening sunroof. Could be the drainage channels are blocked up with dirt?

If that's a pan-roof it's normally a blocked drainage pipe worth checking usually an easy fix

If your X5 is a 22 plate it must be under warranty surely? If so just take back to your dealer hand em the keys and fix those please. It’s one of the small perks you should enjoy whilst you have it with a new or nearly new car. Plus you don’t have a dog and bark for it 😂

On the weight thing, your metabolism slows down with the reduced calorie intake so you become a little less active over time which means you don’t burn as many calories so plateau. You need to increase your metabolism with more activity without dropping more calories intake.

Mine started leaking exactly the same went back to BMW 3 times, replaced pan roof mechanism and seals, replaced drivers door seals had to have new carpets in the whole front section due to water in the footwell, all under warranty but was a nightmare kept giving it back to me then when it rained it still leaked

The BMW stop on the delivery of many of its cars has been a significant problem for them requiring reengineering of both parts and software. It covers lots of their cars, not just the X5. The parts and software now seem to be flowing through to dealers, so they can get cars (new & used) out the door. Then they will have to start tackling the backlog of cars which are already in owners' hands. The stop and ultimate recall relate to the brakes, so it is pretty important. You are gloomy about the requirement for the recall, but on the other hand, I would much rather that the car gets fixed.

It’s your sunroof gutters that are blocked the down pipes that drain the sunroof, easy fix🚫 also it probably needs a software update?? Check your fault codes ie get a Carly or bring it to a good Machanic and have them read the codes,
