Further reaffirming the fact that, dealerships lie to get you to buy into something, they can later deny ever saying. Rule of thumb with dealerships, or frankly anything business related, "Always get it in writing." Great video.

Thanks for posting such a helpful video, along w links for tools/parts needed. Had my X5 to the dealer recently and they quoted $179.99 to replace the engine air filter! No way.

Thanks for the video. I have a 2020 & 2021 BMW X5 and I am thinking I can do some of the maintenance myself, since I am retired as of August, 2024. 😎

Great video. How often are you suppose to replace this filter? Also my 2022 X7 has kinda a vinegar smell in the cabin, today I replaced the 2 cabin air filters and it got much better but I notice that everytime I star the car is when the smell is stronger, same thing when it switches start/stop. Do you have any idea about what could be the reason? I got it "brand new" according to dealer but it had about 200 miles on it.

Check for leaves under the hood where the air is being sucked in. It could have some old leaves etc. there that are kinda stinky. I would change the filter at least once a year. Every 6 months if you live in a desert or if car is parked under a tree or something.

After you clean the vehicle, before you change the air filter. Leaving it running with ac on high, then spay a can of air cleaner to kill the bacteria in the pipes. Then install new filters
