FYI : The Actual Weight of The Legion 500 is only 26 pounds (I have one & I weighed it), not 29 as he wrongly posted, and the 29 pounds refers to the boxed package weight in the box, not the actual bike weight out of the box.

Yes this is true. I have one as well and weighed it on two separate scales, 26 pounds on a spring scale, 25.78 pounds on the digital scale. Also the freecoaster hub engages in about 15 degrees of rotation. I got mine from Mongoose directly for $441.00 delivered to my door!

As a mid school rider, the question of "who supports more riders" well buddy in the last decade or more, Mongoose did not support pro's as much because their owners took them back towards big box store orientation. If you look over their whole existence, Mongoose drags WTP through the mud for having supported way more riders and for longer with guys that come to mind like Eric Rupe, Fuzzy Hall, Tinker Juarez, Dennis McCoy and I'm forgetting a ton more. They may have faded in the pro area from the early 2000's to today but they are starting to come back to their roots slowly and do support many events and a few pro's again these days. We can't hold it against them that they were sold to many different big companies in the early 2000's and these companies didn't have the same mindset towards freestyle and pros unfortunately. I'm happy to see them come back slowly to their origins and offer again some decent complete bikes for different budgets as well.

An interesting point. With chrome and green or black and orange color schemes, if you take "Looks" out of the equation, by Dougsterbob's own standards, the Legion L500 wins by 7 points!!!! That said the scoring is confusing because I'm not seeing the whole equation. L500 86 = 104? Reason 94=109?? Look at the board and do the math. I must be missing something.

Definition of bunk-ass: bunk-ass adjective very ("-ass") bad ("bunk") So could bunk-ass mean Bad Ass? If so this could very well be complement. Example: "Now I’m getting a L500 JUST because of this guy’s Bad Ass videos." The L500 is a good bike and the only thing Dougsterbob got wrong was the weight. The price fluctuates from $620 to $441, timing is everything. Other than that, Dougsterbob's videos are based on his BMX experience, I respect that and is still a good specification comparison. Take it or leave and don't believe everything you see on the internet. Sometimes you just got to check it out yourself!

Legion L500 also has 48 spline spindle, half-link chain, quicker free coaster engagement, and actually weighs 26lbs. I've seen it on sale for less but MSRP it still wins on paper. But, the reason I would still buy the WTP is the frame welds. The Mongoose is a mess of big glob welds and the WTP looks like someone actually knew how to weld (even on their lower priced bikes the welds are very nice).

I actually own and ride both of these bikes and I think they are both great. I'm 41 years old so I put seat post extensions on both of them and ride them for exercise nowadays. They are both really good looking bikes with my favorite being the Reason. I have no complaints with either bike, they both keep me riding happy and in shape

What sucks is all these bikes are out of stock in the US but there sitting on shelves all over the place. I found a greek site that has at least one Panza Devotion and will ship it stateside but it ends up being $1100

Was wondering whats ur thoughts on using the bikes in this tournament for the pump track and dirt jumps. I have mostly race bmx bikes and was wanting to make my next bike a bike for the pump track or dirt jumps.

My guess is WTP sends dude more freebies. Mongoose has 48 spline crank and the "winning bike" has an 8. Mongoose has a sweet half link chain, nope on the WTP. WTP lists the weight of the reason as 27.63 lbs and the legion weighs 26.

Yes so far very fast sipping and I’m in Alaska, that said I’m used to very slow shipping usually about a week and a half to two weeks. This came in about a week and I was very pleased.

For the price, I don’t think the Reason can be beat as a complete. Super street tech geo, full chromo set up, sealed bearings all around, and hub guards. I’ve landed directly on my downtube multiple times and only managed to scratch the finish.

A preference on geometry and lower end parts, plus color choices doesn't make the reason a better buy. You also skipped alot of pros to the Legion. I know this video is old, but not a very fair comparison.

i feel the WTP would beat both the sunday ex & cult devotion bc the WTP bike has a freecoaster & pegs & hubguard, while the devotion & ex dont even come wit pegs. We'll see tho 🥵🥵🥵🥵
