For those who don't know, this scenario is based on multiple poems and scenarios described by people in the trenches. One of the most famous being how a German soldier wanted to shoot a horse dead, because it was stuck in barbed wire in a crater-ditch. For days it screemed as its intestines were stuck in the barbed wire and the horse desperately tried to fight loose. The wild, fearful eyes of the horse was all that ever raised above the crater and never far enough for anyone to risk camoflague to shoot it. So they waited, in silence, on both sides, for the screaming horse to scream and scream and scream. For almost a week, before it finally silenced.

I would go to a WOMAN'S salon; they have more skill.Show them a picture of the haircut. They can shape and adjust the haircut to fit your face, a skill only women's salons are trained for. A man's barber shop is just gonna buzz ya, not understanding the nuances of the cut. Michael Pitt's cut may seem seem simple, but it's not. It's a cut by a professional hairstylist, not a barber. It's designed to flatter his face to best advantage by a professional stylist. A barber is not necessarily trained to do do the detailed work that cut actually has. Go to a hairstylist, not a barber, and you'!! look fucking BOMB.💗💗😍😍😍

Such an incredible scene and introduction to Harrow's capabilities. That's actually a very difficult shot to make given the optics of the time and him shooting through a large pane of rather dirty glass. The 2 inch area around the nose is referred to in combat circles as "the box". A shot there is pretty much a sure shot into the lower brain and the brain stem, and is 100% lethal, since those are the areas of you brain that pretty much control everything that happens automatically that keeps you alive, like breathing and making sure your organs function. Snipers will target that area to ensure a kill as well as drop the target on the spot.

This scene right here, along with the "I'm what time and circumstance have made me" quote has grown on me like flowers in a German garden. This truly is.. a fucking piece of art. These guys are already beyond gangsters. Gangsters are two-timers compared to Jimmy. Jimmy's practically a monster. He can't escape what he's become because of the war, he embraces it and uses his skill to climb up the ladder, that's all he's been taught.. and he does it well.
@tiffles3890

Both of them were put down by gangsters. And the fact that they overcame gangsters on their way was only because of patronage by other gangsters in the first place. They're just damaged goods who no longer know what to do with themselves other than continue doing what they were doing in the war. That's all.

@@brutallyhonest123 Yes, I know the association that people believe it has, however, Johan Sebastian Bach did not write this piece for Phantom of the Opera; or Boardwalk Empire for that matter. And yes, I get it, Richard Harrow had a mask and the Phantom did too...However, Toccata and Fugue in D minor is a musical piece which had its roots long before it was used anywhere commercially. It's a nice callback, I suppose, but this is wonderful piece of music is just a masterpiece which has been used by theatre, films and TV shows.

Jimmy was living in Chicago with Capone, and a prostitute in their "house" was savagely knifed across the fact as some kind of demented "lesson." Jimmy felt close to her in his own fashion, and felt the need to avenge this thoughtless cruelty. And I'm glad other people have written about Jimmy's relationship with his own experiences in the war and his relationship with his own death. I don't think I would have seen it this way without their takes on it, and it deepened my appreciation.
