I've been using G305 for 2 years. Switched to Orochi V2 few days ago instantly fell in love. The shapes are pretty similar. You can easily get used to Orochi's shape fast! If you have tiny hands, Orochi V2 might just be the best small wireless mice on the market imo. It is way lighter than G305. Love it. Shape wise I'm sure small hands will all love it. As for sensor? tbh all the sensors on gaming mouse released within past 3-4 years are all good enough. Just get used to it, and u will be fine.

I got my Orochi v2 and had my doubts before getting it. Using it for a couple hours. I can honestly say I’m surprised. Love the coating on it, great stock feet, significantly better weight balancing (i actually put a triple A in the AA slot lul) and nice snappy clicks. For $70. I’m actually going to say its worth it. I did get a G305 Bundle at Walmart for $20 which is a hell of a bargain. But comparing the two. I like the Orochi’s shape better since it does remind me of a MM720 without the ring finger rest. Also sensor positioning one thing i actually kind of noticed, but actually ended up being beneficial for my aim. Overall I am a big fan of this mouse.

I actually really don't like a lot of rechargeable mice, you're back up in seconds and you don't have to charge it. if you buy rechargeable, you just swap them when it dies. also batterymice usually use a lot more of their juice because they're normally just drain the battery to nothing before you need to replace the batt. also lighter because you can mod the mouse and a lot of these mice can be ran on 2 button cells if you mod them. if you hate disposable batteries, just buy a large pack of Ni-Mh batteries, and you will fall in love with now fast and simple and cheap it is to just keep a charging dock at your desk and immediately have a brand new battery at your desk any time your mouse or other things die. I went from seeking internally rechargeable devices to AA/AAA devices as soon as I bought them, trust me you won't regret it.

*Long Review and a Summary Review of the Razer Orochi V2 as of 10/15/21 with a week as my main.* I come from the Razer Naga Trinity using the 12 button side panel for over 2 years and with about 6 months usage with the 2 button side panel. And with 2 weeks using the G305 lightspeed. I had to redo this review because I took the cover off the mouse and accidentally pressed a button so my comment was gone since I was sent to another page. *_Summary of my review:_* I have small-medium hands. I prefer a claw/palm grip. The shape of the mouse could have been better, the hump close to the back as it does nothing in its current position and the side groove for the thumb repositioned up to make it easier to press the side buttons. A longer length would have been better. It doesn't have a 2 to 1 ratio. Unsure how much that makes a difference. Buttons are good. The dpi button is hard to press due to the awkward position. It is a lightweight mouse and picking it up to reposition is not difficult but sometimes slightly awkward since I can't find a consistent grip and I keep changing while using it. It has a smooth glide. More so than the 305. I prefer the size of the 305 than the Orochi. Connectivity works pretty well but I have had an issue with the PC/Synapse not recognizing the mouse, replugging in the dongle fixes this. You should use the dongle for gaming but other than that bluetooth works great. The 305 only has the dongle. I like that I can change the scroll up and scroll down of the middle mouse button so they both have a different bind when using hypershift and it's normal bind when not using hypershift so I still have the normal scroll up/down and extra buttons. You can't do that for the 305. Razer has had issues changing profile so I have to manually do it and there are no preset commands in Razer like ghub has for some games. Lint collects a lot in the feet of the Orochi. And the edges of the product information sticker. Overall I do like the mouse and the functionality. I which the shape was a little bit different and the feet didn't collect that much lint. *It is worth the price.* If you use the fingertip grip or the claw then this mouse is for you. I do want to add I used it on bluetooth with my phone and it worked well. It is smaller than the 305. The feel of it in my hand. I have been using this mouse a week. The claw grip style isn't the best for me even with my small/medium hands. I guess this mouse is more fingertip. I don't like using mouse that way. I guess I do a mix of claw/palm, my ring finger hits the right edge of the right click mouse button and sometimes it would pinch that finger. Doesn't hurt at all, I can just feel the edge of the button and it will slightly squeeze. The mouse is shorter than I would like. Due to my own comfort and RocketJumpNinjas' idea of a 2 to 1 ratio for a mouse. The bump I wish was more towards the back, it being in the middle I feel doesn't do anything. If it was back more then it might have contact with the bottom of my palm close to my wrist, as of now there is a gap between my thumb and the opposite outer edge of my palm. Put your thumb to your pinky, there is a gap there, that is the area I am talking about. The groove for your thumb is comfortable and makes picking up the mouse easy which without, it isn't the easiest so grip tap might work wonders here but I haven't used grip tap before on mice. If the bottom edge of the thumb groove/the thumb groove as a whole was slightly higher, closer to the mouse buttons I might have an easier time using the side buttons and have a nice grip on the mouse. The middle mouse button isn't hard to click but I wish it was a little easier. The scroll wheel up and down is easy to use as are the side buttons. The "dpi" button which I have remapped is easy to press but I have to completely curl my finger inwards to press it. Easy to do but not comfortable or fast. The 305 is easier to pick up given the shape. The sides of the Orochi are easy to get used to but I reposition my hand often in use. I can't find a consistent grip for the mouse. The weight of the Orochi is pretty good. I have no issues at this weight. I am used to the MMO mouse the Razer Naga Trinity which is about 120 grams or 110(iirc, please look this up in case I am wrong on weight) so switching to the G305 which is 100 didn't feel much different until I did the foil mod. Then I had connectivity issues since the connection wasn't the best using that mod. The 305 was easy to pick up due to the sides curving in. It was pretty odd at first though on the 305. Given the issues I had in my previous paragraph though. The Orochi and the 305 I can pick up the whole mouse for repositioning. As for the Naga I would lift up one side and drag it. It is a heavier mouse and there is difference in weight from the Naga and either of the other two mice assuming you are using the AAA converter mod(the lithium battery as well which the 305 doesn't come with) for the 305 and the lighter battery whether is it the lithium(Orochi comes with) or a AAA. I think it might be slightly back heavy but I might be imagining that. It is a smooth glide. More so than the G305. As for bluetooth or the dongle. I played a few games on bluetooth and I thought it was my internet or me having a bad aim day. I didn't know I left it on bluetooth mode. After switching it back to the dongle I was hitting more shots. An issue I had when I switched to the dongle from bluetooth a couple times my PC/synapse wouldn't recognize the mouse which means I couldn't use it. Reconnecting the dongle fixed this issue but it happened twice during a buy phase so I couldn't buy weapons. If you are not playing a competitive game, I don't know that you would be able to notice. I played Valorant and Overwatch on bluetooth and I didn't know if it was the mouse being on bluetooth or not but after changing to the dongle I was more effective. A couple times switching from bluetooth to the dongle has made the mouse not be recognized by my PC and Razer Synapse. This has caused me to not buy in the buy phase cause I was reconnecting my mouse and didn't immediately mess with the dongle itself. Replugging in the dongle fixes it. It might be an issue with Valorant. I can switch modes outside of Val on my desktop and the mouse has no issues. The functionality of the mouse is good. There is no tilt function but you can remap the scroll up and down to something else. I have scroll up and down remapped using hypershift so I have the normal functionality but two added keybinds in games. When switching from bluetooth to the dongle sometimes Razer doesn't recognize the mouse like I have mentioned. I remapped the dpi cycle button since I only use 800 dpi and thus I have another keybind. My hypershift button is the side button which is normally M4, my new M4 is mapped to the dpi button so that I still have it. Having hypershift as that side button makes it easy to press that button and any other button on the mouse with it. Unlike if I used the dpi cycle button as the hypershift key. The software has trouble switching profiles so I have to manually do it a lot. It does recognize a lot of my games. You can add another game like you can in ghub for the G305. Razer will try and find the game for you can show you some files, you can still browse to find it yourself. The G305 has prebuilt commands for the games it recognizes so you don't have to find out what keys the game uses by opening it up. Make sure you select the right executable or the profile won't change. It could say "thegame"win64.exe instead of just "thegame".exe. You need to keep that in mind. You can not rebind the scroll up and scroll down like you can in Razer. Or I would have changed the scroll up and down to something else when using gshift to get two more buttons. That is somewhat of a trade off. If you changed the keybinds in the game when using ghub I think the keybinds on the mouse stay the same if you used the prebuilt commands. If you choose to do the normal mimic the keyboard keys then it won't change with the change in game and you would need to change it in the software which is what you always get with Razer. Only one battery works at a time. You can't fit a AAA and a AA at the same time. It is nice it has a slot for either an AAA or an AA. The look of the mouse. I couldn't get the black variant except from the Razer store so I went with the white one. The white one is a lint magnet. You can just brush it off so that is fine. Under the mouse at the bottom is another story. The feet are lint magnets as well as the sticker(?) with the extra information on the mouse like the serial number. I prefer the logo on the Razer than the 305. The 305 is black so not so much a lint magnet and there isn't nearly as much lint/crud on the feet or bottom of the 305. The scroll wheel on the 305 does collect some lint. Even my Razer Naga Trinity didn't collect this much lint.

@@azd25 The only issue I have had is connecting, sometimes you will need to plug it back into the port after initial connection since sometimes synapse won't recognize it or at worst case the mouse will stutter but once unplugged and plugged back in the issue will be fixed and this has not happened often. It always appears right at the beginning, so after turning on your PC or plugging in the USB the issue will show. The clicks have always worked and feel nice. I feel it has been accurate in tracking/flicks and hasn't faltered. It hasn't skipped or anything like that. I haven't noticed double clicks or anything.

Absolutely confused about why people complain about this. You can have like a fucking container on your desk with batteries in it and whenever you run out, you can replace it. Wireless mouse who use AA battery is in better, imo. I mean, why go wireless in the first place if you still need to clutter your desk with cables for charging the mouse? And while charging the mouse, you're still essentially using a wired mouse. So the solution? get a swappable battery. And if you want, you can get rechargeable AA battery with type C or micro USB plug. That'll save some battery cost and more environmentally friendly if you're into that.

g305 + battery mod + mouse switch replacement with huano blue shell white dot (or kaihl gm 8.0, gm4.0 etc since the switch cost about the same)+ new glide still cost less than orochi v2 in my country. so i think if you are willing to mod or you are thinkerer and like to mod ur mouse g305 is the way to go and its easier on the wallet

Not sure what you mean by "By going the non-rechargeable battery route Razer was able to produce a top-tier mouse with top-tier features and good weight balancing". That kind of makes it sound like they're only able to sell the mouse with these features for 70$ because it doesn't have an internal battery. As the Razer rep on the Triple Click Podcast said that the Orochi is "ultimately positioned to be a portable gaming mouse". Meaning, their goal for it was never to have an internal battery, and I'd say by comparing the requirements of the portable version it's quite clear that this isn't about compromise but about design decision. A portable mouse's shell has to be designed to house and easily replace AA batteries, and for the PCB to accept 1.5v. In the case of the Orochi that means the entire button shell is removable and that the innershell fits batteries. I'd more so assume that Razer invested quite a bit of R&D into making the mouse feel way better than protable mice used to. If they wanted to make a wireless mouse for stationary setups, they would've been able to reuse designs and components from their other mice that use 3.7v internal lipo batteries, aswell as have an better designed topshell. (seperated buttons, more lightweight (the mouse isn't particularely lightweight for how small it is)) So I'd say making a mouse that targets a different purpose than any of their recent wireless mice doesn't lend itself for it to be cheaper to produce and that the small added costs to having a USB-port and an internal battery, compared to shipping every unit with Energizer batteries, probably wouldn't make a "stationary gaming" version any more expensive. And I would make the claim, that even if it was 5-10$ more expensive, most people who bought the mouse and post it on like r/mousereview, probably would've gone for the

It makes it sound like that because that is what you would like to think. I’m saying that the reality of the situation is that the mouse uses batteries and still feels amazing. Didn’t bother reading the essay because u seemed to be going off of a flawed analysis
@AVPancientPredator
@AVPancientPredator 3 жыл бұрын
@@boardzy Saying that the mouse is still great even when using batteries just isn't the same as saying the mouse is great because it uses batteries. If you can spare the time to explain how your statement with the scheme of "by going with X, Y was able to produce Z with top-tier features" does not directly imply that "Z" having "X", is at least partially the reason it does have the top-tier features, I'd be very glad to hear it. Because, to me, there doesn't seem to be a way to factually interpret it otherwise. And the short form of my essay about the mouse is, that making it a version with an internal lipo battery and a charging port shouldn't have changed the price much, if at all, and that version would've been better suited for the majority of customers I've heard of buying the mouse. The critism I'd like to give you, is that you made a video asking why companies don't keep striving for "the perfect prodcut", but now you're fine with a mouse featuring a battery implementation that's worse for the "stationary gamers" like yourself you mainly rate products for, and that's not inline with that opinion. Anyone's free to change their opinions ofc tho.
