I have a trailer-aid ramp for my dual axle trailer. In practical experience, it only works under the most ideal circumstances. Always carry a jack and wheel chocks.

Thanks for the good reminder, Kevin. You can't be too prepared! I love my Trailer-Aid and have never had an issue with it not doing the job quickly and easily, BUT I wouldn't want to be caught without a jack and chocks either.

I carry a replacement hub with bearings and seals pre-packed and installed. If a bearing fails on the road, chances are the race is shot too. You'll need a rubber mallet to remove bearing buddy and needle nose pliers to remove cotter pin. Also, a basic ratchet set, WD40, electrical tape, wire nuts, and a small spool of 16g wire.

Absolutely, especially for the single axle trailers! If you have a dual axle trailer, the trailer jack is a godsend. Just loosen the lugs on the affected tire, drive up onto the jack on the good tire, and swap out the bad one. Way easier than dealing with a jack if you're on the side of the road. I've had just about every trailer emergency imaginable (except for the hitch coming off the ball) through my 29 years and 66,000 miles of towing. You have a lot of the essentials, but missed a grease gun and spare cannister of grease. Pre-greased bearings plus a spare hub. I carry two spare tires (and yes on multiple occasions, I have used them both in a single day.) A jack, spare lug nuts, a lug wrench. Latex gloves. I do not bring an inflator as I always check before the start of the trip that the spares and tires are properly inflated. In my experience portable inflators are practically worthless as they heat up too quickly and will take a long time to inflate a tire that is way underinflated. Also, do not always assume that Boat/US trailer assist will come to your rescue. In several places in the Western US, there is no cell service once you get off the interstate. Assume you are going to have to do everything yourself.

Also good advice, Kevin. Sounds like you've had a lot of experience! I, too, check my tire pressure before heading out each time (thanks, dad!), BUT I do keep a small inflater and extension cord with me all the time. (Actually, I think that is mine in the video.) it is super cheap, a little slow, and loud, but it does a great job. I've never had an issue with it getting too hot. It has saved my bacon a bunch of times, including with a small, very slow leak in my tow vehicle tire that I couldn't get fixed immediately. Good call on having TWO spare tires. A few years back I was accompanying a friend on a road trip and she had THREE tires on her trailer go on the trip. (We believe the self-balancing lug nuts had been installed backward.) That was a nightmare of a day!

Having spare wheel bearings are great to have but they need to either be prepacked with grease or you need to have sufficient grease in your kit to pack them. I also carry a couple of spare locking pins for the ball hitch.

I have a hydraulic jack fits nice. Bearings on my spare tire holder two size bearings. It also has hub for quick fix.

I would consider a complete hub kit for the trailer. that way you are not packing a bearing on the side of the road

A tubeless flat tire repair kit that can help you get home or to a tire repair place. Cost around $5-10.

After several bad tire/hub experiences over the years I carry even more, a floor jack, A dewalt Impact wrench, a pry bar, a fully greased hub or two ready to roll, and a grease gun with 3 tubes of grease. And heavy duty had cleaner. DONT BUY CHINESE TIRES!!

If you are going to change bearings. A hammer and long punch to remove the race. Better yet! A spare hub with greased bearings installed
