Such a great performance of an eternal classic by the master; this was when he did a series of shows at the Supper Club in NYC. It's telling that Dylan did several appearances on Dave's shows over the years, and has steadfastly avoided Leno, Colbert, Kimmel, etc.

You simply don't get it. Bob Dylan forever changed the writing of songs. The subject that songwriters would address in lyrics was forever changed by Bob. The meaning of what a song "is" was the never the same after his first few albums. Think of the lyrics of your favorite modern songwriters. Well, Dylan made this possible, and they could not have imagined writing their songs unless Dylan paved a path for them.
